Charlotte Tilbury The Queen Lipstick.

Today I will be reviewing my third Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and an online exclusive rightfully called – The Queen. I’ve been a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s products from the moment I saw their incredibly aesthetically pleasing brand in John Lewis, it really is a vintage girls dream. However, I’ve yet to branch out to any of the other products available as I’m absolutely obsessed with lipsticks, but from what I’ve seen all of the make up looks just as impressive and I can’t wait to try it!

I came across this lipstick purely through luck, I was browsing on my laptop and an advert popped up showing my dream lipstick, therefore my first introduction to Charlotte Tilbury’s The Queen! The luck continued to be with me as my Birthday was coming up, so I knew what I’d be asking for and as you probably guess by this post – my beautiful mum did not disappoint!

This colour is one of my signature favourite shades, a hot pink with a touch of red making it impossible to blend in and creating an iconic pout. The lipstick was actually created to pay homage to Her Majesty, Elizabeth II, (hence the name) and was inspired by The Crown Jewels, I definitely think she would approve. This product is part of Charlotte’s Matte Revolution Collection and is incredibly long lasting and bold, you are definitely buying a quality lipstick! Not only does it look and feel great on your lips but it also hydrates and protects them with tree and orchid extract.

As I’ve mentioned in a previous post featuring my first Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick, the product is shaped into a square tip which is perfect for defining your lips. The tip is actually designed to create the illusion of a lipstick brush and makes the application process a lot easier, especially if you don’t have one.

At £23, this lipstick is definitely in the higher end price range, but I really think it’s worth the money. The quality of the product is truly stunning, not only is it long lasting and moisturizing for your lips, it also looks absolutely gorgeous. My favourite part of the lipstick has the be the vintage style packaging, I adore the rose gold case and I think its so iconic and such a statement design.

Charlotte Tilbury Velvet Underground Lipstick.

There’s nothing I love more than a beautiful lipstick and with Charlotte Tilbury’s products, that’s definitely what you get! I picked up this beauty yesterday after spotting it a few weeks before Christmas, when I fell in love with Lost Cherry.

It’s a slightly different style to Lost Cherry which is from the Matte Revolution range, whereas Velvet Underground is part of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G collection. The first thing that caught my attention was the shade of the lipstick, a vibrant fuchsia pink! Although I adore the colour pink, I tend to wear red lipsticks a lot more, I’m not really sure why, I guess I just feel they suit me better.

However, something about this pink felt a bit different to me, almost quite daring compared to the warm barbie shades I’m used to. I was pretty sure that I didn’t have another lipstick like it, however, I did realize a few hours later that this sadly wasn’t the case. When you have as many lipsticks as I do, this happens quite often, but fear not, Velvet Underground has a more glossy fuchsia finish compared to my other hot pink matte shade from Rimmel.

Charlotte Tilbury is quickly becoming one of my favourite make up brands, although I’ve only tried their lipsticks so far, they are so aesthetically pleasing and such good quality! I look forward to trying all of their other products one day too. Compared to the Matte Revolution collection, the K.I.S.S.I.N.G collection have a normal shaped lipstick tip, but still apply wonderfully.  There are currently 10 other shades available, my most wanted being of course, So Marilyn – need I even explain why?

Another lipstick on my wish list has to be Amazing Grace, I actually tested it the same day I bought Velvet Underground and it looked like a beautiful rusty red shade. I’ve said this before in previous posts and I’ll say it again, what I love about this brand is the lipsticks are so clearly inspired by so many Old Hollywood Beauties. That’s not just me assuming either, it’s stated on the website!

I decided to wear my new skater dress I bought in the January Sales on Very from South, for just £15 (!), it’s now gone down to £12.99 and is also available in black and pink as well a my colour, cobalt blue. I absolutely adore dresses that are modern but look like they’re from the 1940s and 1950s and this one is just that.

The lace detail creates such a classic vintage feel and it also goes in at the waist – a must for vintage lovers. It’s the rare combination of fairly fitted but comfy, personally, I wish it was slightly tighter on the waist but a belt shall fix that. However, for such a bargain price I really can’t complain! I absolutely love the simple button detail on the back of the dress, the littlest things definitely make the most difference.

Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! The last couple of days have been unusually busy for me, hence the late post – so I do apologize! It’s so surreal to think in just a couple of days we will be starting a new year! Time is flying so fast, this year has definitely been a mix of emotions for me, the first half was pretty good  and the second half, well not so good. Therefore, I’m hoping that next year shall be a lot kinder.

I got a beautiful dress from the Myleene Klass Very Collection to wear for Christmas Day and I absolutely love it. It’s very 1950s and floral – definitely my favourite style! It’s now in the sale for just £41.50.

I was very lucky to receive such lovely presents this year and straight away I took photos of my new make up as I simply had to share them with you all! I actually chose the lipsticks a couple of weeks ago with my mum, but this was the first time I was going to see them properly and try them out – what could be better?!

The two lipsticks I got are by brands I’ve not used before, Charlotte Tilbury and Lancome and they are absolutely beautiful!

After creating one of my favourite colours, a rusty red, by mixing a coral red and brown/nude lipstick together I was determined to find an actual lipstick similar to that shade. The shade I thought came closest was L’absolu Rouge in Rouge Rayonnant in 47.

What I especially love about this lipstick is the shape of the lipstick, I’ve not got any like it! It’s a distinct oval shape which is perfect for defining your lips and the quality of the lipstick is so smooth and hydrating! I actually felt if I wanted I could apply the lipstick without a lip brush due to it’s shape. The colour is a glossy vibrant rusty red and perfect for all vintage lovers, it’s definitely one of my favourites – I’ve worn it twice already!

I also adore the packaging, you truly do get your moneys worth with quality products, that definitely cannot be denied. The black and gold packaging is so complimentary and gives the lipstick such a classic feel, it also looks extra lovely with the silver covering box. I definitely can’t wait to purchase more products from Lancome, especially their Doll Eyes Mascara – I’ve wanted to try it for so long!

The second lipstick I got was Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution in Lost Cherry, which is a beautiful matte redish pink, another classic colour for vintage lovers. I actually stumbled across this lipstick unintentionally, as soon as I walked past the make up stand I was in complete awe! This brand has such an Old Hollywood vibe to it, with lots of references to stars, one lipstick was even called So Marilyn – which is on my wish list!

The packaging is simply stunning, I feel like I’ve just picked up the lipstick out of a 1950s boudoir! You can’t really tell in the photos, but the container is tinted a beautiful shiny pink, so unique! The shape of the lipstick is even more unusual, I love trying different styles of lipsticks and this is definitely a must because the square tip is such a good idea! What’s even more amazing about the lipstick is the texture is matte, but your lips feel so hydrated and it glides on so smoothly. I look forward to posting about more Charlotte Tilbury products in the future!

I also got a No.7 Lash Impact Mascara and I cannot get enough of the packaging! For the last couple of years this seems to be available at Boots near the cash counters at Christmas and I’ve always loved it because of the vibrant glittery red  colour – it’s so unique! Although I wasn’t as impressed by this mascara as Benefit’s Roller Lash, it’s great for the price and I really like to use it on my lower lashes.

Lastly I got a new bottle of my favourite perfume – Chanel No.5! It’s such an iconic perfume and obviously incredibly popular because of a certain someone called Marilyn. Although it’s not for everyone, it’s definitely for vintage lovers and definitely makes me feel closer to my favourite star! Plus it’s my favourite number! It’s very expensive though, definitely one to get for your Birthday or Christmas or in the January Sales!

Speaking of Chanel, I just have to take a moment to say how much I adore the new No.5 advert! It’s directed by one of my favourites, Baz Lurhmann and I think the cover of You’re The One That I Want by Lo-Fang is just stunning.
