Crownbrush UK

There’s two must have products when it comes to wearing makeup; sponges and brushes. Of course the actual items are pretty important too, but you always need the tools to create the art, just ask Leonardo DaVinci! Well, anyone who uses brushes will do really.

It’s most definitely a good sign when a Brand has longevity and Crownbrush has just that, first originating over 35 years ago!

When I think of Brushes my mind goes straight to two of my favourite Brands; Spectrum and Morphe – however, for great companies to become established there’s usually one that has been continuously working for many years previously and Crownbrush is the one that stands out.

I was fortunate enough to be contacted by Crownbrush UK and gifted some products of my own choice to try, however the writing and opinions are all my own.

Something that is very important to me within the Beauty World is supporting Cruelty Free Brands and Crownbrush is thankfully one of them.

I picked seven of the Crown Pro Eye Brushes to use with the 30 Matte Colour Eyeshadow Palette. Over the years I’ve loved to try being more creative and colourful, which is now a must for me when creating an every day look. Yes, nude shades can be beautiful but they’re just not my style and if I’m honest, I find them a little boring. Plus, with June being the month of Pride, there was simply no other choice in my mind.

The 30 Matte Colour Eyeshadow Palette is a collection of vivid and bold mattes, covering the whole spectrum of the rainbow with five rows featuring pinks, blues, yellows, greens, purples and oranges. If you like to stay in a safe makeup bubble, at first this product may look a little intimidating. However, there are so many styles that can be created with this product, especially for the Spring and Summer seasons. The corals, yellows and orange hues are perfect for a warm every day look, if the greens and blues feel a bit much. Plus, you can’t really go wrong with a nice pink overall base. Sometimes if I want to make the look more subtle, I’ll place one shade on top of the other and through trial (and occasional error!) I’ll blend and mix to build it into another variation.

The overall packaging of each Crownbrush UK Product is sleek and minimal, with the objective being to deliver professional quality products to add to your Makeup Kit. The great thing about the brushes is they were designed with the aim of listening to what Professional Makeup Artists wanted, but making them available for everyone. Therefore, you can feel comfortable knowing you’re using great brushes and paying an affordable price!

Thank you to Sophie from Crownbrush UK for getting in touch and introducing me to such a wonderful Brand. I’ve used the Palette all week and not needed to pick up any other!

Essence Cosmetics X Disney Princess Collection.

As someone who has lived and breathed all things Disney for as long as they can remember, unintentionally discovering another Collaboration with Beauty Brand, Essence Cosmetics – on Wilko of all places, was a surprise I was very happy about!

The Disney Princess Collection features three of Walt’s Royal Heroines; two from the Classic Era – the original Princess,  Snow White and Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora and one from the Renaissance Era – The Little Mermaid’s Ariel.

With Lockdown 3.0 continuing throughout the UK, having any shops to visit that aren’t online is a rare experience. Therefore, after browsing through Instagram and coming across this gorgeous Collection, I took a moment to sympathize with my Bank Account, as we both knew the inevitable was coming – bye bye money!

Unfortunately, with a quick bit of research, it does now seem that Wilko have sadly stopped stocking the three Eyeshadow Palettes. Fear not though, Notino are also stockists of the products and although a lot are out of stock currently, you can click to be notified when available.

As well as the Disney Princess Collection, there is also a Disney Villains with their sister Brand, Catrice Cosmetics, featuring Maleficent, Ursula and The Evil Queen.

I managed to get four products from the Essence Collaboration;

ESSENCE X DISNEY PRINCESS EYE BRUSH AND BAG SET:

Contains a rose gold brush bag, with three matching brushes;

• Snow White Eyeshadow Brush
• Aurora Smudging Brush
• Ariel Blending Brush

ESSENCE X DISNEY PRINCESS SNOW WHITE 02 MY PRINCE WILL COME EYESHADOW PALETTE:

Roses – hot pink matte.
Golden Leave – baby pink mauve matte.
Curse – warm gold shimmer.
Dark Magic – cool dark burgundy matte.
Magic Wand – copper shimmer.
True Love – cool medium brown shimmer.

All of the Palettes are £10.00, which I think is an extremely good price, especially with it being an official Disney Collaboration and each one does include a mirror. I’ve tried all of the products multiple times and was pleasantly surprised at the pigment and quality of the Eyeshadows.

Out of the 42 shades, my favourite has to be Sea Witch from Ariel’s Palette, it’s absolutely beautiful and in all honesty, I wasn’t expecting it to be as vibrant as it looks. It’s perfect to use for an extra pop as a lid topper too. However, if I had to pick just one to own, it would definitely be Aurora’s, as not only is she is my favourite Princess, (Cinderella also) I love the variation of pinks and aesthetic of the colours.

The only slight disappointment within the Collection, would have to be the shades in Snow White’s Palette. This is simply because I can’t comprehend how there is not one single red colour within the fourteen available. I mean, I really think they’re missing something there as I’ve always associated this signature shade much more with Snow White than with Ariel.

With hers I’d expect more cool toned blues/purples and maybe one red for her hair and Sebastian – of course! Ultimately, the general aesthetic is a bit underwhelming for Snow White’s Palette and with only two matte shades – Aurora’s has six and Ariel’s has 5, there’s not really enough colours and variations to work with to create a full stand alone look.

However, I simply could not have left one out, they are definitely a must buy for any Disney fan and I will absolutely treasure them. The beautiful detailing and consistency in the overall aesthetic and theme for the Collection is greatly appreciated too. Thank you Essence Cosmetics and Disney for blessing us makeup lovers with this Collaboration and I hope there’s more to come!

Urban Decay x Game of Thrones Collection.

Game of Thrones has literally taken over the world and if you’re a devoted fan like myself, you’re probably more than happy about this. Therefore, when Urban Decay announced their latest collaboration would be a whole collection of Game of Thrones officially licensed makeup products, it was like Winter had finally arrived – get it? The Collection consists of a variety of items; an Eyeshadow Palette, Highlighter Palette, four Vice Lipsticks, four 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, a Lip & Cheek Stain and the complete Vault Set which also contains two Eyeshadow Brushes in the shape of Arya’s Needle and Jon’s Longclaw.

As much as I dream of owning the entire collection, my bank account reminded me that I had to choose only my favourite products, therefore I picked the Eyeshadow Palette and the Daenerys Targaryen Vice Lipstick. I do have my eyes on the Mother of Dragons Highlighter Palette – it is simply a dream collectors item but, that will sadly have to wait.

The Game of Thrones Eyeshadow Palette is quite possibly the most intricately designed packaging I’ve ever seen, whoever came up with the concept deserves an award, it is absolutely stunning. No photo can emphasize how beautiful it really is, it literally comes to life, especially with the 3D pop up Iron Throne. The palette is split into four sections with the central theme being the three Houses vying for the Iron Throne and The North. Furthermore, the Westeros map is displayed throughout the product featuring two iconic quotes said by Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister – which just happen to be my two favourite characters!

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the price of the Palette, at £45 it is in the higher range price of makeup products, however with it being a Game of Thrones collaboration, I was expecting it to be around £60. Altogether there are twenty shades; three mattes and seventeen shimmery metallics, with each theme containing five signature colours associated with them. It would be nice to have had a couple of more matte shades, however, with such a versatile collection of colours – I’m still incredibly happy!

The North; features cool toned icy blues, silvers and a midnight black.

Take The Black – jet black with silver sparkles.
White Walker – opalescent white.
Frozen North – midnight metallic blue.
Free Folk – cool ice silver.
Hard Home – blondish silvery gold.

House Stark; features earthy autumnal shades.

“Winter Is Coming.”

Nymeria – warm matte mid brown.
Winter Is Here – dark metallic brown.
Weirwood Leaves – deep metallic muted purple.
The Sight – vibrant forest green.
Winterfell – warm bold gold.

House Lannister; features warm rustic coppers and golds.

“Hear Me Roar!”

Red Keep – metallic orange copper.
Casterly Rock –  muted metallic gold.
House Lannister – matte cool peach.
Lannister Red – muted matte red brown.
Kings Landing – vibrant cool blonde.

House Targaryen; features cool pastels and bold metallics.

“Fire and Blood.”

Stormborn -metallic cool purple.
House Targaryen – metallic warm gold.
Dothraki – vibrant yellow gold.
Bend The Knee – metallic lilac.
Bay of Dragons – metallic pastel mid pink.

Out of the four Vice Lipsticks available, the one I knew I had to have was Daenerys Targaryen, which just so happened to be the red lipstick! This shade is described as a, “fiery metallic red” and is a clear nod to her fire breathing dragons and House Targaryen. All four Vice Lipsticks are created with the metallic formula, meaning they’re sadly not fully matte, but they do create a beautiful 3D effect. At £17.50, these are the same prices as Urban Decay’s other stick lipsticks, which once again is a pleasant surprise considering the exclusive packaging.

Each shade features the sigil and colour of the House it is made for and once again, is truly a work of art. The other two shades are as follows; Sansa Stark, a “warm peach nude” and Lannister Gold, a “metallic bronze“.  I came close to purchasing the final shade in the collection, the White Walker lipstick, which is described as a, “deep berry wine” but as silly as it seems to a non fan, felt like I was being a traitor to Daenerys! However, I did swatch the shade and it was very pigmented and super creamy – just as advertised.

Overall, I think Urban Decay have created a Collection which truly does justice to the incredible TV Show which Game of Thrones is. I honestly cannot stop staring at the Eyeshadow Palette especially, each shade is incredible and so magnetic. I also really love how the packaging is created to look like a book, which as most will know is the original  source for Game of Thrones – thank you Mr George R. R. Martin!

Ciaté London Jessica Rabbit Collection.

Firstly, hello! It’s been a long time, almost six months in fact! However, I’ve finally found the inspiration to start writing again. Sometimes it can be hard to feel inspired when you’ve been blogging fairly regularly for over three years, however, I never intended to stop forever, I simply wanted to look forward to writing posts again and well, today is that day!

As a huge lover of makeup, I look forward to seeing what products are going to be released that I can add to my ever growing inventory. Therefore, when I discovered Ciaté London created a collection dedicated to Jessica Rabbit, I think my heart may have skipped a beat! If you know me it’s hardly a surprise, but, Jessica Rabbit is one of my favourite Bombshells, inspired by Old Hollywood’s Veronica Lake, Rita Hayworth and Lauren Bacall – she’s an absolute dream! Yes, she may not actually be real, (I know, I’m still coming to terms with it) but, there’s no doubt she’s an icon in film and as a pinup.

The Jessica Rabbit Collection features three products;

The Jessica Palette – a nine piece eyeshadow palette. (£35)
Glow To Highlighter: Roger, Darling! – a powder highlighter. (£26)
Glitter Storm Lipstick – a glitter metallic lipstick. (£19)

Each product can be bought individually, or altogether in a beautiful Jessica themed box set – naturally, I had to buy the full set! At £60, it’s definitely not on the cheap side, but you save a total of £20 compared to buying them separately, so if you’re a super fan, it’s worth it. Plus, the quality is incredible, arguably the most beautiful makeup packaging I own, each is worthy of being collector pieces. Currently, the collection is sold out, but the three items are still available on their own.

The amount of detail and research that has gone into every inch of the products is truly impressive, Ciaté have made sure to create the ultimate Jessica Rabbit products and they have not disappointed! Like the Superstar she is, Jessica features all over the items, even her stunning silhouette is etched onto the outer packaging. When she’s not gracing us with her presence, there’s the ever reminder of her through the signature purple shades of eyeshadow and the striking bold red lipstick. She’s one lady that definitely won’t be erased, (I’m sorry – it had to be done!)

With makeup constantly growing, you can often end up buying many products that look similar, however, I can categorically say that The Jessica Palette is a true individual and a must have addition. The palette features nine different shades in two different formulas; six shimmers and three mattes. Each colour is related to Jessica and the iconic film she stars in, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?;

Love Letter – a signature Jessica red.
Oh, Roger! – a midnight blue.
Sunset Blvd – a medium gold.
I’m Not Bad – a warm bronze.
Patty Cake – Jessica’s trademark purple.
Drawn That Way – a bright vivid gold.
Carrot Cake – a warm orange.
Toon Kisses – a muted lilac.
Honey Bunny – a light peach.

I feel this palette possess the shades to create both day to night time looks, going from day time dream to smokey screen siren! It’s a great size, not too bulky and therefore can easily be carried around from place to place.

The second product in the collection is the Glow To Highlighter: Roger, Darling! once again featuring an iconic pose by the leading lady on the outer compact and a beautifully embossed Jessica on the highlighter itself! I’ve seen various highlighters featuring lovely logos embossed, but this is truly on a whole other level! I can honestly say I wish I had the money to purchase another highlighter to keep in pristine condition, it really is almost too beautiful to use. For now I shall apply the highlighter by working my way from the outer corners! The colour is described as a, “soft focus peach/gold” and created using, “ultra fine pearls and a cream powder texture” it’s a little masterpiece, that’s the only way to sum it up. Also, I find the colour choice to be very universal and suitable for both day and night time.

The grand finale in the trio of products is the Glitter Storm Lipstick, a bold stunning true blue metallic red, definitely not for the faint hearted! This shade oozes Jessica appeal and helps you come one step closer to achieving your pinup bombshell dreams. The lipstick is described as a, “hybrid that combines star like pigments with a full colour base, for hyper shine and shimmer like never before” therefore, I’d say creating a semi matte metallic formula. It feels comfortable to wear and is a statement piece in the collection, there’s truly no mistaking that this is Jessica’s signature lipstick.

If you thought it couldn’t get any better then you’re wrong, as all Ciaté London’s products are Peta certified and cruelty free! Ever more fitting considering Jessica’s lovely husband is Mr Roger Rabbit!

I’ve bought Ciaté products and reviewed them before and I can honestly say that this Brand is extremely consistent in quality and has yet to let me down! I couldn’t recommend this Collection enough, I haven’t been this excited or passionate about one in quite some time!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer Eyeshadow Palette.

If you like to experiment with makeup, want to stand out from the crowd or simply just love the colour pink, then Jeffree Star Cosmetics is the Brand for you. Jeffree Star Cosmetics was established in November 2014 and since then has gone from strength to strength, regularly selling out products within days. Since I discovered this amazing Brand, which is not only cruelty free but vegan also, I have managed to build up a mini collection of products. Well, in reality it’s more like a handful, yet slowly but surely it’s growing.

With the increase of Eyeshadow Palettes being created and the realization that I’d yet to add one to my Collection, I came across Jeffree’s Beauty Killer Palette, which is also available to buy from Beauty Bay. At £40, this price range is pretty standard for most Brands, with some ranging up to £50 or more. Plus, the great thing with this particular palette is that the eyeshadows are huge, so you most definitely get your money’s worth. However, I was very fortunate when I bought this product as Beauty Bay were having a 30% discount offer, so I actually only paid £28, (!) which is obviously a huge bargain.

Within the palette you get ten shades and a mirror also, which is incredibly important as believe it or not, I’ve seen some products that do not come with one! Each colour features Jeffree’s signature star logo imprinted into it and have a matte, glitter or frosted finish, which are blend together easily or can be worn alone. The shade names are as follows: Star Power, Princess, Violence, Rich Bitch, Courtney, Expensive, Confession, Vanity, China White and Black Rainbow.

Out of all ten, my favourite three colours would have to be, Star Power, Princess and China White. I regularly like to create a pink ombre with the first two shades, they work so well together and are extremely pigmented so a little goes along way. Furthermore, I often use China White as a concealer, it has such good coverage! The Beauty Killer Palette is so versatile and can truly create so many different looks, for every day to partying the night away. I haven’t been brave enough to try some of the darker shades yet, but I hope with experience and more practice I can one day create the perfect smokey eye!

Not only are the shadows incredible quality and long lasting, the packaging is so stunning, even the cardboard it comes in is beautiful – and yes, I’ve kept it. This truly stands out from other Eyeshadow Palettes, not only for it’s bold shades and size but, for it’s pink dream house look, it really is every girlie girls dream! I hope one day Jeffree releases the shades separately, as I’d love to buy a few of my favourites again, but I know this will be lasting me a long time, so I won’t get too worried just yet!

Jeffree has also recently released his second Eyeshadow Palette – Androgny, which is also the same price as Beauty Killer, but they are completely different. The Beauty Killer is definitely very feminine, daring and girly, whilst Androgny is a neutral palette, featuring nude, blues and brown shades. Thankfully for my Bank Account, although very beautiful, these shades aren’t really for me, so I’ll be holding out to see what’s next in store for Jeffree Star Cosmetics!

Do you have The Beauty Killer Palette? If so, what’s your favourite look to create? Let me know!

Phase Zero Makeup Eyeshadow Palettes.

Today I kindly received twelve beautiful new Phase Zero Makeup Eyeshadows and a Palette to review from Love Me Beauty, with five shades being a sheer satin finish and the other seven being shimmer. After successfully launching their Liquid Lipstick collection, they have expanded their beauty brand and created a variety of shadows with a wonderful concept called B.Y.O.P – build your own palette. I think this is such a wonderful idea, as this means that you can choose your favourite colours and create a unique set that suits your style.

Each of the shadows comes in a protected plastic case and once removed from the packaging, can be firmly placed into the palette with its magnetic hold! Altogether twelve different shades can fit into your own palette and due to each one having a magnet, they can always be moved in and out, if you want to mix it up and just have a change.

For my own palette, I was sent the following shades; Coffee Cup – a rich brown, Warm Taupe – a soft taupe, Cashmere – a dusty rose, Velvet – a warm purple and Banana Beige – a sunshine gold. These five are a sheer satin finish, meaning they offer a buildable coverage, are easily blendable and have a sheen quality. The other shadows are; Nude Newbie – a mauve pink nude, Mush-a-boom – warm grey, Party Dress – a deep glittery black, Pearl – a golden pearl pink, Cocoa – a warm brown, Bright Light – a highlighting white and Snowball – a golden white. These seven colours are a shimmer finish which apply evenly and give you a buildable, blendable coverage. Phase Zero Makeup also recommend tapping off any excess product before applying the shadow to ensure an even application and less fall out.

I really appreciate the variety of shades I’ve been able to try, I usually like to use gold, white and nude shadows to create a 1950s Marilyn inspired look and a contrast with my black winged eyeliner. Therefore, it’s great to have shades I love to wear regularly, but also to be able to try more daring colours and improve on my eyeshadow skills.

If you become a member, each shadow costs just £2.90 to purchase and if not, the original retail price is £5.90. However, you can also buy bundle shadow sets with two together costing £5.00 for members and £11.80 for non-members, three shadows cost £6.99 discounted and £14.50 retail price and last but not least, six shadows can be bought together for £9.99 or £25.50 full price. Therefore, as you can see there is a huge difference regarding each price and ultimately, I think it’s a better deal to purchase a few together, instead of buying all separately.

The Phase Zero Makeup B.Y.O.P is a beautiful holographic design and features a mirror, it’s a great size, not too big and not too small – it could easily fit in your handbag for every day use. The original price costs £10.80 compared to the member price which is just £4.80 – over 50% cheaper. Also, the palette does not come with any shadows, they are all sold individually.

Furthermore, Love Me Beauty have kindly created an influencer code for me, which offers you the chance to save £5 off your first purchase. Should you choose to buy anything – the code is, “MEGAN5” and as I pride myself in honesty, I have to state, for anytime my code is used I will receive a £5 commission.

Please note, I pride myself in making sure I write honest reviews and although I was fortunate enough to be gifted these items, I was not told to say any of the following statements I have made.

Lastly, a huge thank you to Amelia at Love Me Beauty for kindly gifting me this collection and making it possible for me to review such wonderful products!

Makeup Obsession Highlighters.

Once again, another one of my beautiful friends, the gorgeous Demi, introduced me to the amazing Brand that is; Makeup Obsession. They produce a unique style of products, in the fact that all of them are in compact form and the highest priced item is only £10! Also, each compact has the option to fit into a beautiful palette case, which are available in a variety of sizes and colours. Therefore, you can create a unique selection of products by placing your favourites inside.

The products that are available include; Eyeshadow, Contour, Highlight, Blush and they’ve recently added Lipstick too. I had heard wonderful things about their highlighters, so naturally, I decided to buy one. I picked three shades, two of them shimmers and one of them in a strobe cream.

The first two shades are called Moon and Bare. Moon is a beautiful lilac, which is my favourite shade of highlight to wear and Bare is a lovely rosy pink, which adds warmth to my face and is slightly more subtle. The final shade I bought was Precious, which is a stunning baby blue that adds a dewy glow to my face. At first I was slighly apprehensive about buying a cream highlight as some I’ve tried in the past haven’t been so great. However, I was highly impressed by the pigment and quality of this product, a little goes a long way and it’s absolutely beautiful, a unique shade of highlight. For some reason on the website the strobe balms are under the contour section, however I definitely see this product as a highlighter and will continue to use it as one.

Each of the highlighter were only £3, which is such a cheap price, yet such an amazing quality product – it’s unbelievable! The products are so pigmented, I’d even go as far to say that they could be more pigmented then some higher end brands! Each of the shimmer highlighters has Makeup Obsession’s beautiful star logo imprinted into the product, which is very pretty and I definitely  appreciate the added touch.

There are so many different shades in all of the makeup available and for such a good price you can pick up about five compacts for the price of one mid to high range product! I decided to buy a palette to keep all of my products together and I chose a Pink Obsession in a medium size for just £4! For this size, it will hold six singles and you also get a large mirror included – bonus! Each compact can be removed, so once it’s run out you can replace it with another or mix and match depending on how many you have.

I also decided to pick up a matte nude eyeshadow called Pearl, which was even cheaper than the other products at just £2! I like using a nude shade on my eyelids to contrast with my black winged eyeliner and this product is simply wonderful, Plus, it even works as a concealer for my spots if I can’t seem to gain full coverage – who knew!

The only negatives I can think of is that the compacts are fairly small, but for the price I can’t expect them to be huge sizes. Also, Makeup Obsession is exclusive to Boots, so if you don’t have one near then it could be frustrating not being able to see each shade in person.  However, once again you can order online – so all is not lost!

I can’t wait to complete my palette and purchases many more shades in the future from this amazingly cheap but quality brand!

Misslyn Cosmetics.

One of the great things about Makeup is that it’s constantly growing and changing, with many new Brands being created and discovered every week. Therefore, it was with wonderful surprise, that I opened my post last week and discovered an unexpected Blogger Package! The parcel was from Misslyn Cosmetics, a Brand that was completely new to me and aesthetically, is my absolute dream.

Misslyn Cosmetics was founded in Italy over 30 years ago and is now distributed by Chleo Enterprises. For UK fans like myself, it can be purchased online from the wonderful Beauty Bay.

As soon as I saw the beautiful products I’d been so kindly gifted, I fell in love with them straight away – even before trying anything out! The packaging has a gorgeous retro vibe, reminding me of amazing Brands such as, Benefit Cosmetics and The Balm Cosmetics.

Misslyn aim to release a new Collection every six weeks – which is already incredibly impressive if you ask me! Plus, as I mentioned before, I was kindly gifted the perfect summertime makeup; their new Festival Vibes Collection. These products are simply a must for the Summer Season, when practically every week there is a different Festival happening. However, fear not, if you  love the Festival look but aren’t going to any then don’t worry – you can still fit this Collection into your weekend look or if you’re like me – every day!

The Festival Vibes Collection features the following items, Lip Candy Palette: Red Kiss Edition, Eye Love It Eyeshadow Palette: Eye Got It From My Mama, Nail Polish No. 139: Just Be Free, Nail Polish 394A: Endless Road and Jewellery Body Tattoos No.6: Mystery Land.

What’s wonderful about all of the makeup is it’s perfect for carrying around in your bag all day, they’re petite and easy to store!

If I had to choose a favourite product from the Collection it would have to be the Lip Candy Palette: Red Kiss Edition. There are two lip palettes available, a Red Kiss as shown and a Pink Kiss, so if you’re not a rouge lover like myself, there’s always another option! The palette comes with six different shades, which saves you carrying around a million lipsticks and prevents you losing any too – huge bonus! The colours are as follows: Popcorn Lovers, Candy Cane, Cherry Glaze, My Sugar, Honey Pie and Soda Pop; definitely a theme of all things sweet, which I love. I don’t know about you, but a good product name is a big plus for me and this palette without doubt passes that test! Furthermore, only three of the shades are hugely red, the other three have a brown and nude tone, so there’s even more options to mix and match with. Last but not least, the palette comes with a mirror and a lip brush, two very important things to have when applying lipstick and especially when you’re at a Festival.

Lately within the world of makeup, it seems that everyone is loving eyeshadow palette, myself included, although a lot of them are very big and not easy to travel with. However, the Eye Love It Eye Shadow Palette is the perfect product for on the go, not only is it a great size, it also features six different shades! As with the Lip Palettes, there are also two different ones available, Eye Got It  From My Mama and Eye Got My Eyes On You. Both products feature matte and shimmer colours, which are perfect both separately and together, giving you plenty of options. The eyeshadow names are: Daddy’s Girl, Daddy’s Darling, Daddy’s Credit Card, Mama’s Advise, Mama’s Favorite and Mama’s Genes. How adorable!? Within the compact there are three bold shades and three neutral shades, I usually wear a lighter shadow shade to contrast with my bold eyeliner, so I will definitely be using those frequently! I’m also excited to experiment with the bolder shades and branch out of my comfort zone.

If you’re like me and don’t have any art on you, then the Jewellery Body Tattoos are perfect for trying something new! They are all temporary, so you can pick and choose which ever is suitable for you at a certain time and know that it will last for five days. Two products are available in the Festival Collection; No.5 Indian Spirit and No.6 Mystery Land. If you’re after a bold, colourful look then I’d definitely go for No.5 Indian Spirit and if you want a more subtle look then I’d choose No.6 Mystery Land. My personal preference would be the former, however, both feature metallic gold and silver luster that reflect light, which is such a cool idea! Plus, they’re quick to apply and pain free – what could be better?

The last products I was kindly gifted from the Festival Vibes Collection are two Nail Polishes; Just Be Free and Endless Road. There are two other shades available from this specific range, but if they aren’t to your liking then there’s sixty other polishes to choose from – so plenty of choice! Just Be Free is a beautiful coral summer shimmery nude, definitely the perfect shade for this season and the daytime. Endless Road is a nude shimmery shade which contrasts wonderfully with Just Be Free and would be just right for the night. Both have a ultra glossy finish and dry in just sixty seconds! Furthermore, the polishes features a special widespread applicator brush which is meant to adapt to the shape of your nails, meaning it can be applied in one swipe. I can’t wait to test this out!

For today’s look I chose to wear the shades, Candy Cane as a base coat and Cherry Glaze over the top. Both colours glide on perfectly and are very pigmented with a matte but glossy finish. Plus, did I mention they smell absolutely gorgeous too?! For my eyes I wanted to create a subtle summer glow, that would contrast with my winged eyeliner. So I used the shade, Mama’s Genes for the overall base coat, Daddy’s Credit Card for my eyelid and Mama’s Favorite for above. Each shade is pigmented but buildable and is nice and simple to apply. Ultimately, I can’t wait to try out all of the shades and create more looks!

Please note, I pride myself in making sure I write honest reviews and although I was fortunate enough to be gifted these items, I was not told to say any of the following statements I have made.

Lastly, a huge thank you to Michael from Chelo Enterprises for gifting me these amazing products!

Eyeshadow Love.

Although my favourite Make Up Must Have is of course, a Lipstick, lately I’ve been getting a lot more interested in Eye Shadow! I’ve always been inspired by Marilyn’s Eye Make Up, with the main focus being the Eye Lashes and Eye Liner. She mostly wore a natural white base on her eyelids with a slight dark shadow between the crease, that I usually leave out. However, I’ve decided to branch out with colours and mix and match with Eye Shadow as much as I do with Lipstick!

As well as wearing a white eyeshadow base, I also  wear nude and gold shades and therefore, as soon as I saw the new Maybelline Nudes Eye Shadow Pallet, I knew that I had to try it! I love Maybelline, I’ve worn their make up for years and I especially love their Mascaras. Before this, I’ve only actually had one Eye Shadow Pallet, I usually buy just the one colour, so I’m by no means an expert. Therefore, I can’t tell you how happy I was to see instructions on how to match each colour and where to apply it on the back of the compact!

The instructions give you three ways to wear the shades; Quads, Trios and Duos. I wanted to try as many shades as I could so naturally, I chose to follow the Quad Instructions. I picked the middle four shades to use, mainly because I didn’t want it to be too dramatic and I’m more used to using golds and lighter nudes, I have yet to master a Smokey Eye! For the Quads, the lightest colour is used to cover the entire eye area, the sparkly gold is used to shade the eyelid, the chocolate shade is used to contour the crease and the darkest shade is used to line around the eye.

Overall, I found the Eye Shadow fairly simple to apply, I used my Eye Shadow Brush and made sure to blend each of the shades subtly together. I found the crease contouring and lining around the eye the hardest, simply because it was the smallest space to apply. However, as I always apply my Winged Eyeliner after my Eyeshadow, that covered the lining around my eye anyway.  I can’t wait to try the other colours and discover which shades suit me and dare to try shades I’m not used to!

The second Eye Shadow Pallet I bought was Revlon Photoready in 520 Watercolours Aquarelle. I think after watching Cleopatra (1963) I’ve subconsciously been inspired to try colourful Eyeshadows, after all, the eyes are just as important as the lips! I was browsing around and saw this compact, what I loved the most was the display of the colours as they are placed where the shades should be applied to on the eyes.

It was also helpful to have the instructions on the back once more, I guess all Eyeshadow Sets do this as it’s a very good idea for a novice like myself.  Firstly, I applied the lightest shade, the primer, all over my eyelid and right up to my brow bone. After that I added the main shade to the lid, then I applied the center shade on the crease and sweeped the top shade on the brow bone. Lastly, you can add the sparkle shade to complete the application, however I forgot to do that, silly me! After applying so much Eyeshadow, it’s definitely handy to brush over your face as so much falls down onto your cheeks.

To finish my look, I applied my new Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Siren In Scarlet. I’ve got many Maybelline Lipsticks and I think they’re wonderful, so I knew I would like this. I think Matte is my favourite finish on a Lipstick, I like the option of adding a gloss and I think Matte lasts the longest and applies the best. I always use Rimmel’s Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain 010 and Rimmel have re released these  with a Pore Blurring Effect and a 24 Hour Moisture Hydration too!

I really can’t decide which Eye Shadow I prefer, although I wear Nude Shades more, I absolutely love the colourful shades and will hopefully try some more in the future! Which do you prefer?
