Vivien of Holloway Fashion.

Before I even start to talk about Vivien of Holloway the Brand, I simply have to say how much I love that the lady herself, Vivien, spells her name just like one of my Old Hollywood Favourites, Vivien Leigh. If you don’t know who she is, I’d advise checking IMDB as soon as possible. Inspirations aside, now that I’ve shared my little Fan Girl moment, it’s time for me to focus on another favourite subject of mine; Vintage Fashion!

Vivien of Holloway was founded in 2000 by the lady herself, who from a young age had huge enthusiasm for 1950s Fashion and almost twenty years later, it has became a major phenomenon for all Vintage Lovers like myself! One of the unique things about Vivien of Holloway is that all their clothes follow vintage sizing, which continues the authenticity of creating wonderful reproductions from the era. I think this is such a unique concept, but definitely important to mention as if you know anything about Old Hollywood Fashion, you’ll know how different sizing was.

Research shows that the majority of sizes from the vintage era now vary by two, for example, I’m a UK Size 8 and my Vivien of Holloway dress is a Vintage Size 12 – with the measurements being 34-26-38. Although my hips are roughly 34-35 inches, the garment I’m wearing is fitted on the bust and waist but flared on the hips, so this didn’t affect the fitting.

Technical information aside, as my favourite eras for fashion are the 1940s and 1950s, Vivien’s dresses are an absolute dream and honestly, if I could afford to buy all the dresses – I’m pretty sure I would! There is so much variety in style, colour, length and pattern so I can pretty much guarantee there’s something for everyone on this amazing website.

As soon as I saw the, “1950s Halterneck Midnight Rose Dress“ I knew that I simply had to have this in my wardrobe! Floral patterns are without doubt my favourites to wear, I love recreating the 1940s and 1950s look, it makes me feel like my true self. Furthermore, it just so happens that pink is the colour I adore the most and roses are the flowers that have a special place in my heart. Plus, with the base colour being black, this adds further class and glamour by creating a bold shade contrast.

At £89.00, the clothes may not be the cheapest available to buy, however, if you want an authentic vintage reproduction and a beautifully made product, then every penny is truly worth it. This dress is simply made for the Summer Season and if you’re like me and live in dresses – you might as well wear it all year round! I love that Vivien’s dresses have so much versatility, not only would this look great for a Party, you could also happily wear it for a Picnic on a lovely sunny day. Plus, with the cotton fabric, you’ll feel comfortable all throughout the day and the stunning boned bodice creates extra curves and definition, giving you the ultimate 1950s Pin Up figure!

Although the dresses don’t come with petticoats or belts, there are a huge number of choices and colours to choose from on their website. However, if you don’t fancy spending money on further accessories, there’s no need to worry as the clothes look just as lovely without – it’s just great to have more options and Vivien of Holloway definitely has them!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Tulip.

It’s pretty surreal to me that after dreaming of owning an Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick for years now, I can finally say that the day has arrived! As far as I’m aware Anastasia was one of the first, if not the first to create the beauty phenomena that is, the liquid lipstick.

A few months ago this beautiful Brand finally launched a UK Website and it’s safe to say that pretty much daily I was checking to see if their iconic liquid lipsticks were in stock. For some bizarre reason hardly anything was available online, it simply said, “coming soon to the UK” and I had almost given up on them ever being stocked. However, at last, the long awaited email notification arrived! I must point out, Anastasia has been available on Beauty Retailers such as Cult Beauty for quite a while, yet the liquid lipstick have never been on there to buy.

However, as soon as I read the email, I was straight on to their website and browsing through the 36 shades available, including the recently launched shades! As we all know, my signature shade is of course, a blue toned 1950s red and I had decided that this was what I was going to go for. The great thing about Anastasia is there is such a wide variety of colours available to suit everyone’s tastes and preferences, from popular nudes to unique lilacs and teal – they have it all!

Eventually, I had narrowed my choices down to either American Doll, described as a, “classic retro red” – basically my dream shade, right? Or Tulip, one of the new colours released which is a, “beet red.” Surprisingly, I decided to choose the latest lipstick released and went with my second choice, Tulip! I thought this red tone looked slightly more unique to my many other reds and ultimately, I definitely think I made the right decision. I’m happy to confirm that the lipstick looks exactly as photographed on the website and it is simply stunning.

At £20, these liquid lipsticks are in the mid to high price range, so sadly I won’t be able to buy one each week, but I know I’m fortunate to have one and yes, it will be cherished. However, as perfect as the product may be, I did have a slight annoyance with the delivery fee. Free shipping is available if you spend over £25 and as the lipstick is £20, chances are if you’re just buying one thing you will have to pay shipping. Of course, I completely understand that not all Brands offer this and that is fine, but having to pay £6.95 for standard shipping, stating 7 – 10 days for delivery is in my opinion, totally unacceptable. There is also an option to pay £10.95 to receive your items in 2 -3 business days.

I really wasn’t happy about paying for such an expensive delivery, so I decided to find the cheapest product available and purchase a pencil sharpener which was £6.00, so I would qualify for free shipping. When I can afford to purchase from Anastasia’s website again, I think I will actually buy two liquid lipsticks instead of one, that way I qualify for free shipping and basically get one of my products for £15. On a positive, my purchase arrived earlier than the date I was give and I was informed by one of my friends that even though I bought from their UK Website, all stock is shipped from the US – hence the high delivery fee.

Ultimately, it was definitely worth spending my money on this beautiful lipstick, the formula is without doubt one of the best liquid lipsticks I’ve used. It dries down matte within seconds, and I actually can’t feel any product on my lips – amazing! However, I do wish they lasted a bit longer, especially on the inside of my lips, although the rest of the lipstick does stay pretty well. There is no scent on the lipstick, which is completely fine with me, although I do usually enjoy the scents, I know not everyone does. The product is a great size and I’m pretty sure this will last me a long time, although it is my current favourite to wear so, I can’t promise anything! I really love the packaging, it is so simple but very elegant and definitely oozes class. One of the best things about Anastasia’s liquid lipsticks is believe it or not – the applicator! I’ve never actually seen one like this before, it’s an oval shape but very flat with a sponge texture, perfect for creating an iconic bold lip.

Overall, shipping aside, I adore this Brand and it definitely lives up to the popularity and hype it receives in the beauty world. The frugal woman inside of me wishes it was slightly cheaper but I can’t really complain when the product is such high quality. I hope to be able to purchase more liquid lipsticks in the future and eventually try out the iconic glow kits!

Cath Kidston Love.

If there’s a shop I’ve always adored from afar it would definitely be, Cath Kidston. My earliest memory of this beautiful store is from when Nokia collaborated with the brand and released limited edition versions of their 6111 phone, so yes – a long time ago! Over the years I’ve had a number of their products, but I’ve never bought any clothes from them before, to be honest I didn’t really know clothes were available!

However, all of that changed when I walked past their beautiful shop yesterday and spotted a lovely floral dress in the window. As someone who adores all things vintage and especially floral patterns, this is practically my dream place to shop! What’s even better is the products are inspired by actual vintage patterns, so they feel even more authentic! I ended up trying on four (!) of their dresses but, managed to control myself and just buy one.

The dress I chose to buy is slightly different from my usual choices, apart from being blue of course! It has long sleeves , a V neck and a ruched in waist which contrasts with the loose fitted bust. I get a very 1960s boho chic vibe with this, I feel like it’s something Brigitte Bardot would have worn in her heyday and I absolutely love it! It’s also lovely to have one with long sleeves, I have no problem with sleeves – I just rarely seem to find any dresses with them!

At £65 it wasn’t the cheapest dress you’d find, but from the quality you can definitely tell it’s worth it and will last for a long time! This is from their new Spring/Summer Collection and I will definitely be back in there to have a browse! The shop is just so aesthetically pleasing and beautifully set out, I would love to work there! Also, the staff were lovely and very helpful, I felt like they were almost my friends, you really can’t beat the little things.

My dress was wrapped in pretty floral gift paper which I shall definitely be keeping! Before today I’d not even been on their website, I’d not even realized they would have a shop online actually, how silly of me! However, it’s just wonderful and I know I’m going to have to stop myself from buying the whole store!

Out of the four I tried, I was so tempted to buy another, but sadly it was far too revealing on the bust. Therefore, I tried a size up but it was too loose on my shoulders, I’m so happy I had the chance to try it on though.

Flower Fever.

Happy  New Year lovely readers! I hope you all had a wonderful time, I myself had a very uneventful evening – but Silver Linings Playbook was on the TV, so that kept me very entertained. I don’t know about you, but I’m relieved it’s 2016, 2015 for me was a strange year – it started off pretty good but, the second half of the year couldn’t have been much worse, alas, that’s another story.

This year I’m definitely going to try and start putting myself first, I’m really working hard to beat my OCD and Intrusive Thoughts and I’m also trying to be kinder to myself. I need to start treating me like how I treat other people and stop putting myself down all of the time.

I thought I’d write an outfit post today as I think lipsticks especially are starting to take over my blog, not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s nice to change it up! 

Today I wore a fairly new dress, it’s by a Brand called South and from Very and I’m pretty sure I bought it in the sale. Speaking of sales, I’ve just checked the website now and found at least two of my other dresses in the sale for around £8.40, now that’s a bargain!

What I love about this dress is it’s fitted around the bust and waist, but it’s comfy – that’s the perfect thing about Skater Dresses! What could be better? It’s such a lovely fit and perfect for Summer or Winter, just add a cardigan! The pattern is so lovely too, often you’ve got to be careful with prints as they can sometimes overwhelm an outfit, but I think it’s done very tastefully and has such a Spring feel to it. I teamed the dress with a simple black cardigan to match, I really don’t think you can go wrong with the colour black, it’s so flattering and really does go with everything!

As for my hair and make up I decided to return to my favourite look – the 1950s! The past couple of times I’ve washed my hair I haven’t bothered to pin curl it, I thought I should give it a bit of a break. Therefore, the past week I’ve been plaiting my hair after washing it which creates a mermaid look, think Daryl Hannah in Splash. However, my hair is no way near as beautiful as hers, but I try to work with what I have!

It’s refreshing to currently have pin curled hair again, although it can look pretty short on the first day, it often drops and I can end up creating a variety of curls within the space of just a few days! Today I decided to brush each curl after I unpinned it, in doing that it makes my hair look a lot thicker and loosens up the curls a bit, think Jayne Mansfield Curls in Kiss Them For Me (1957) – well, that was my inspiration any way.

I completed my everyday make up with my current favourite lipstick, L’absolu Rouge in Rouge Rayonnant in 47. I realized after blogging my latest post I forgot to take pictures of me wearing it – eek! Therefore, I’ve worn it today so you all can see the actual shade.

Floral Fever.

Flowers always brighten your day, therefore, I’m a firm believer in wearing them in your hair even when you’re not in San Francisco! I’ve always loved flower accessories, I’ve worn them for around eight years in my hair, maybe it stems my love of 1960s fashion, who knows? Maybe I just like to try and be creative.

I absolutely adore Accessorize, this shop is without doubt my go to for hair accessories, it’s so unique and quirky and I’d recommend it everyone! My mums favourite accessory are earrings and she shares my love for Accessorize too, sadly she didn’t find anything, but I did find some lovely flowers!  I hadn’t bought any in quite a while as I’m pretty picky with the sizes and shapes and try not to get the same old colours.

To my surprise I found a beautiful set of turquoise, blue and silver flowers, not your everyday colours and knew that I had to add them to my collection. My favourite colour to wear is blue and I knew I had a few outfits at home that they would compliment. I also found a large red rose flower, my other favourite colour to wear because of my love for red lipstick and so I bought that one also. Sadly the prices for flowers can be fairly expensive, these were around £8.99, but for all the years you get out of them it’s worth it.

 I have a set of four red flowers, which are very similar to my new blue and silver ones, so I was pretty confident that I would like the way my new flowers fitted. However, I think I had my hopes set too high for the red rose, although I think it’s beautiful, I’m not sure if I think it’s too big. I guess I found it quite hard to place in my hair, but practice makes perfect, so I haven’t gave up hope on it yet.

I also found the most adorable key-ring, a beautiful red lipstick! Being that red is my favourite shade to wear, I was very pleased, however, that’s the only one available as far as I’m aware. Hopefully they will bring other shades out soon! The classic black and gold case make it feel like a true vintage lipstick!

My favourite make up brushes to use are the wonderful Real Techniques, I’ve used their Foundation, Blusher and Powder brush for years and I’ve recently started using their Lipstick brush too which I also love. I’ve had their Eye Shadow and Eyeliner brush on my to buy list for quite a while now, but every time I’ve been to Boots – they’ve been out of stock! However, luck was in my favour this time as not only did I see both brushes in stock, there was an offer for buy one get one half price, yay!

I first tried both today and was very impressed, not only are they very aesthetically pleasing, but they’re so quality made! The difference in using my Real Techniques Eye Shadow brush compared to my other one was very noticeable, none of the bristles came off and they were incredibly soft. The brush was shaped very well for shading and contouring on my eyelid and I can’t wait to use it again!

The Eye Liner brush is definitely my favourite, I love using the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner, the only problem is that with the original brush, I find it can be quite hard on the eyelid and too thick. Therefore, I was so pleased to try this new one, it’s made out of silicone and shaped very thinly, which is great if you like to build up the eyeliner like myself. I will be trying the brush with my liquid eyeliner too, hopefully I will have the same result!

Think Pink.

Although I love the colour pink, I don’t seem to wear it that much, nor do I have many pink items in my wardrobe. However, I decided to style a really girly look today, similar to my Vintage Style of course, but with lots more pink!

My Mum thought it would be a good idea to get me out of the house and we went to see Hot Pursuit at the Cinema, with Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. I’ve adored Reese Witherspoon ever since Legally Blonde came out in 2001 and I’m obsessed with Sofia Vergara as I’m obsessed with Modern Family. It’s only just came out today in The UK, I’ve been wanting to see it for SO long! We both thought it was great and I will definitely be buying the DVD, so don’t let the Critics influence you!

Last week I was looking for a dress to wear for my Grandad’s Funeral, I had no luck finding anything in the stores, so I decided to look online. Although the clothes always look lovely and are definitely my style, before now I’ve rarely bought anything from Very before. Most likely because it’s only online and I like to find dresses when I’m out and about. I definitely will be going on Very more often from now on though!


Once again, my amazing Mum came across a lovely Black Crochet Double Layer Dress for only £29. The dress also had two other options, one was Hot Pink and the other was Floral, of course, being a 1950s girl at heart – I chose the Floral. This one was slightly more costly at £35, but still a pretty good price! This dress is perfect for Spring and Summer, so it was the perfect time to buy it and with England’s Weather, the Polyester Material isn’t a problem.


What’s great about this dress is that it almost looks like a top and a skirt put together!  Of course that’s not the case, but it’s fun to keep people questioning. There’s also no zip either, so you literally just pull it over your head and tada – you’re ready! Even though there’s no zip or buttons, the dress still is quite fitted yet it’s comfy and you can happily stay in it all day.

The dress is just full of details, the underlay has almost a Pink Tint to it, it’s so pretty and there are so many things to see. For example, the little embellishments are so important and really make an outfit, such as the pleats in the skirt. The Crochet pattern has such a Vintage Feel, it’s timeless, classy and really defines the dress.

Whilst the top half of the dress is subtle, the skirt is full of colour and contrasts by really standing out. The Printed Skirt is filled with Butterflies and Flowers, just beautiful, artist and a modern twist on a classic pattern. This dress is perfect for a day out in The Summer Sunshine, but you can easily dress it up too, it’s versatile!


To compliment my dress, I wore my Baby Pink Cardigan from New Look. It furthered the Girly Chic Vibe I was aiming for and kept me warm at the same time! I love how all the Light Pastel Colours on the Cardigan and Crochet Top contrasted with the Vibrant Neon Flowers and Butterflies.


For Accessories, I wore my Nain’s Jewellery, her Watch and Necklace, which are incredibly sentimental to me and mean even more whilst I’m trying to come to terms with the loss of my Grandfather. I wore my Pandora Ring which I got for my Birthday last year, to add even more Pink to my Look. I added my Owl Earrings because of their Vibrant Colours, which I bought from Accessorize, where else?


I applied a Gold Loreal Eyeshadow to my eyes for a Summer Glow and used Miley Cyrus’s Viva Glam Lipstick to complete  my Make Up. I felt that the vibrant tone of the Lipstick really suited my Skirt Pattern, although for some reason I wasn’t feeling this colour as much as I have before. I applied the rest of my Make Up as usual, concentrating on my 1960s Eyeliner Flicks, they are a must for me.


Lastly, I Pin Curled my hair earlier this week and simply brushed my hair and sweeped it to one side, clipping it back loosely. I was inspired by the beautiful Veronica Lake and aimed to achieve her Iconic Bombshell Curls from the 1940s. I decided against any Hair Accessories because I felt like that would have been too overpowering.

Blue Butterflies.

I think it’s fair to say, that I’m a little bit obsessed with the colour blue, it’s been reappearing in my blog posts quite a lot lately. Today I decided to wear one of my Bardot Style Dresses which I bought from New Look last year. I hadn’t worn it in a while and I thought it would go great with  my new butterfly cardigan. It has a lovely vintage feel, its tight around the bust and waist and goes out at the hips.

One of my Dorothy Perkins dresses that I bought a couple of weeks ago is covered in butterflies, I will write a post on it asap, however, my mum saw this cardigan in Marks and Spencer and thought it would go well with this particular dress. Sadly, when I tried them both on together, I felt they clashed too much, although the cardigan was too beautiful to return so I decided to keep it and try it with something else.

Although this dress is pretty simple, the details it has, such as the Bardot neckline, the ruching on the bust and the neon blue colour really make the outfit. Plus, with the dress not being too detailed, it goes perfectly well with the butterfly cardigan and the top compliment one another perfectly.

I adore detailed cardigans, the only problem with them is I feel as they stand out so much, it’s better to wear something less out there so the look isn’t too overwhelming. Luckily, this dress is nice and simple and perfect for the cardigan. It’s so summery and has tiny diamantes  all over it, such beautiful details! Also, the buttons are absolutely adorable, I love how simple buttons are, yet they can come in so many variations! They’re almost an opal colour and just blend wonderfully, the cardigan has such a vintage feel and is cotton too!


I decided to braid my hair into one plait and to make it slightly messy by pulling each section of the hair to give the illusion of my hair being thicker. I was going to braid a fish plait but thought that would look too contrived and not subtle enough. I then added some pastel coloured flowers into sections of my plait to create a Summery vibe and what goes better with Butterflies than flowers?

I also chose some Butterfly earrings to complete the look, the good thing about them is they’re silver, so they are subtle and don’t overload the outfit. I think I bought these from Accessorize years ago, definitely my favourite store for earrings.

For my makeup I created my usual look, however, this time I decided to wear a Plum Lipstick. I love purple colours, however I find them pretty hard to wear all of the time, so only put them on every once and a while. I think plum colours can give you a vampy look and are better for a night out and Autumn and Winter Seasonsa, however I thought I’d take a risk. I have two plum colours from MAC; Violetta and Up The Amp, this time I chose Up The Amp as I found it to be more subtle and thought it would blend better with my outfit. I wore my Magenta Mac Lip Pencil for the base of my lips and then put Up The Amp over it. It has such a lovely feel, the filter is Amplified Creme and it feels so smooth on your lips. I’m usually quite weary of wearing darker lipsticks as I feel they usually look so much better on Brunettes, but I’ve decided it’s good to vary your lipsticks and try new colours! 

Here is the complete look, I took inspirations from the 1960s and Elsa from Frozen for the hair – who else?! I wanted to create an understated vintage chic look and try something a bit different.

Bye Bye Birdie.

So today I thought I would write a post on one of my favourite dresses which I bought last Summer. I’m a firm believer in wearing clothes as many times as you want, it drives me crazy to see all of these celebrities having a huge closet full of clothes but never wearing them, what is the point?

I bought this dress from one of my favourite High Street stores – Dorothy Perkins, they have such beautiful designs and for great prices! The style of the dress is a Bardot off the shoulder, which I absolutely love and always comes in for Summer Trends.  The dress is fitted around the top but the bottom half is unrestricted and a fairly short length which is perfect for Summer Weather.

What I also love about this dress is the colour, I adore blue and have a lots of other blue clothes, there are so many different shades and I really think it suits blondes. I love the pattern too, it’s floral, which as you know is one of my favourite styles, but it’s also covered with birds! Animals are so beautiful and I really love birds, Pigeons specifically – I just find them really inspiring, but that’s another story. It’s just perfect for a lover of vintage!

It was finally warm enough today to wear a dress without leggings or tights, which makes the look feel more summery. I added my half sleeved baby blue cardigan to complete the look, it gives the dress an even more vintage feel.

Lastly, to complete the finished look I added my number one accessory – a flower! I thought a white flower would compliment the baby blue and not detract too much from the dress. I’ve had this one for years and it’s one of my favourites. I also added some earrings, these are probably my most worn ones at the moment, I adore them. My mum picked them up for me from Next, they have some lovely accessories!

For my hair and make up I created my usual everyday look – pin curls and 1950s make up. I used my light Rimmel Eye Shadow compact, as I didn’t want to detract away from my dress – less is more! As for my lips I used my favourite lipstick of the moment – Costa Chic by Mac, it’s a beautiful peachy shade and very Brigitte Bardot. I also used my Lasting Sensation Lip Pencil by Mac to keep the colour in place as it’s filter is frost so it’s not as strong as matte. I used my new mascara by Maybelline called Lash Sensational which is great for length and separation – no clumps!

Bardot Beehive.

So today I took inspiration from one of my favourite stars, Brigitte Bardot! I adore BB with all of my heart, her look is completely timeless and she is without doubt one of the most beautiful women who ever lived. Besides her obvious beauty, she is an incredible actress (The Truth (1960) is a must) and has devoted her post acting career to saving beloved animals. I wrote to her last year with a couple of my favourite photos and she personally signed them all, which I am incredibly thankful for and now they are displayed pride of place on my bedroom wall. 

I think the most recognizable feature of Brigitte’s would have to be her blonde beehive, which was one of her signature hairstyles. Needless to say, when I have a 1960s inspired day Brigitte is my muse, along with Sharon Tate of course, but this post is all about Brigitte.

When recently asked about her famous makeup and hair dos she had this to say,

“I never decided anything. I always hated people fussing with my face and hair. I could get by on my own, pinning up my hair any old way.”

  • A Very Private Affair (1962)Obviously my hair doesn’t look exactly the same as Brigitte’s (sadly) but I tried my best and hopefully you guys will try this hairstyle too! 

    Firstly, I separated the top of my hair by placing both of my thumbs through it, bringing them both together to  make an almost U sign and lifted it up from the rest. I then proceeded to tease that section of hair thoroughly and then brushed over it only slightly. Brigitte’s beehive often had a messy feel to it, which made it look effortless and I tried to capture that to. I used my favourite hair brushes, my Tangle Teaser Brush and a Tooth Comb.

After I had clipped the beehive in place I then added my signature touch – a flower! It also happens that Brigitte loves wearing flowers in her hair, she still does now at 80 and why not?  Flowers are especially easy to buy in the summer in places such as Accessorize and TopShop, but I wear them all year round, they’re such a great accessory!  

I also took some close up pictures of my beehive up close so you can see the detail. I have always left the front of my hair down and backcombed it to blend in with the beehive, purely because I prefer that style. However, it just so happens that Brigitte leaves pieces of her hair down too, so that’s a bonus! It also looks more effortless and less controlled which is the look I was going for.

I also added some boho style earrings to complete the look, I love the detail compared to my normal silver hoops and the colours are beautiful! I think I got these from Accessorize, they have such lovely earrings, it’s always my go to place.


As for my makeup, I tried to copy Brigitte’s signature style, the peachy nude lips and the winged eyeliner. However, I left out the heavy black eyeshadow as I don’t think I can pull it off like Brigitte does, maybe with some practice I may try it out, who knows! Instead, I went for white and golden colours and added some dark shadow in the crease of my eyelid. I used my NARS Lipstick in Brigitte and I also used my MAC Lip Pencil in Hover and Mac Velvet Teddy.


As for clothes, I wore a floral fitted dress that I bought from H & M last year. I don’t regularly shop there as I never seem to find clothes that suits me, however, every so often I come across something lovely! I added a white embroidered lace overlay cardigan to give it that 1950s feel and also keep me warm, both the dress and cardigan really complimented one another. The only problem with the dress is that it’s not cotton material, so can get a bit uncomfortable in hot weather!

Here are some close up details of the dress, I absolutely adore the pattern, I am obsessed with anything floral! I also love how the dress is fitted at the bust and waist, but flares out so it still stays comfy.

Floral and Flirty.

So my latest post today is on a new dress which my mum kindly bought me from Dorothy Perkins last week, she knows me so well! I’ve always loved Dorothy Perkins as it has a wonderful vintage 1950s vibe and is perfect for my style, but lately I’ve been buying most of my new dresses from there! The best thing about my latest buys is, they’re cotton and affordable, this one was in the sale at just £16.10! 

In my wardrobe you’ll find a lot of floral patterns, I simply love that design – it’s girly, colourful and most importantly – vintage! Needless to say, when I saw this dress I was instantly in love! The only thing that bothered me was the length, I’m a little lady at only five foot two and the dress line. Although the dress is fitted around the bust, the rest of the dress is very straight and I was worried on how that would look on me. However, after trying it on and getting used to it, I think it’s makes a nice change! It’s perfect for the summer, nice and breezy, but also has the feminine touch of being fitted around the bust. I love dresses that can be casual and formal, the shoes will always make the difference!

I absolutely adore the sweetheart neckline, I think that’s becoming my favourite style of dress, it’s classy whilst also showing a bit of skin, but not too much – less is more! It’s such a 1940s/1950s vibe and if you love the vintage style, then keep this neckline in mind. Plus, isn’t the name of it just adorable?

I think my favourite detail would have to be the twist detail on the bust, it’s absolutely stunning and really makes the dress in my opinion. It also reminds me of Grace Kelly’s Lingerie in Rear Window, which is a bonus, is it not?
