Makeup Obsession Highlighters.

Once again, another one of my beautiful friends, the gorgeous Demi, introduced me to the amazing Brand that is; Makeup Obsession. They produce a unique style of products, in the fact that all of them are in compact form and the highest priced item is only £10! Also, each compact has the option to fit into a beautiful palette case, which are available in a variety of sizes and colours. Therefore, you can create a unique selection of products by placing your favourites inside.

The products that are available include; Eyeshadow, Contour, Highlight, Blush and they’ve recently added Lipstick too. I had heard wonderful things about their highlighters, so naturally, I decided to buy one. I picked three shades, two of them shimmers and one of them in a strobe cream.

The first two shades are called Moon and Bare. Moon is a beautiful lilac, which is my favourite shade of highlight to wear and Bare is a lovely rosy pink, which adds warmth to my face and is slightly more subtle. The final shade I bought was Precious, which is a stunning baby blue that adds a dewy glow to my face. At first I was slighly apprehensive about buying a cream highlight as some I’ve tried in the past haven’t been so great. However, I was highly impressed by the pigment and quality of this product, a little goes a long way and it’s absolutely beautiful, a unique shade of highlight. For some reason on the website the strobe balms are under the contour section, however I definitely see this product as a highlighter and will continue to use it as one.

Each of the highlighter were only £3, which is such a cheap price, yet such an amazing quality product – it’s unbelievable! The products are so pigmented, I’d even go as far to say that they could be more pigmented then some higher end brands! Each of the shimmer highlighters has Makeup Obsession’s beautiful star logo imprinted into the product, which is very pretty and I definitely  appreciate the added touch.

There are so many different shades in all of the makeup available and for such a good price you can pick up about five compacts for the price of one mid to high range product! I decided to buy a palette to keep all of my products together and I chose a Pink Obsession in a medium size for just £4! For this size, it will hold six singles and you also get a large mirror included – bonus! Each compact can be removed, so once it’s run out you can replace it with another or mix and match depending on how many you have.

I also decided to pick up a matte nude eyeshadow called Pearl, which was even cheaper than the other products at just £2! I like using a nude shade on my eyelids to contrast with my black winged eyeliner and this product is simply wonderful, Plus, it even works as a concealer for my spots if I can’t seem to gain full coverage – who knew!

The only negatives I can think of is that the compacts are fairly small, but for the price I can’t expect them to be huge sizes. Also, Makeup Obsession is exclusive to Boots, so if you don’t have one near then it could be frustrating not being able to see each shade in person.  However, once again you can order online – so all is not lost!

I can’t wait to complete my palette and purchases many more shades in the future from this amazingly cheap but quality brand!

ARTDECO Cosmetics.

I’ve said it before and I’m pretty sure I will continue to say it, I absolutely love discovering and trying new Makeup Brands. Therefore, I was thrilled to find and email in my inbox from, ARTDECO Cosmetics, offering to send me some products from their new Bronzing Collection for Summer to review! Needless to say, I very enthusiastically accepted and was overjoyed when my package arrived.

Inside the box was the following beauty products, Sun Blusher, Golden Bronze Oil Drops and Hello Sunshine Colour Lip Shine in 10 – Shiny Apricot. These items are all from the, Hello Sunshine Collection, so if there’s anytime or Season to be wearing them – it’s now!

When I first saw the Sun Blusher I couldn’t believe how simply stunning the packaging was, I mean with the Brand being called ARTDECO, it’s safe to say I had pretty high hopes – but I was absolutely blown away! This is without doubt the prettiest blusher I own and when opened it definitely does not disappoint. In fact, straight away it reminded me of Benefit’s new GALifornia Blush, but double the size! As someone who 99% of the time wears pink blushers, I’ll admit, I was slightly apprehensive about how this beauty would look on me, but I was pleasantly surprised! When applied, the product gave me a lovely warm glow and was very pigmented, but thankfully not too overpowering for my fair skin.

Ultimately, I feel the Sun Blusher can be worn in a variety of ways, it’s all about what look you want to create and the three shades in the compact can create a lot of variety. Sadly, I can’t find this product on ARTDECO Supplier, Beauty Bay, but there are multiple Blushes to choose from, so don’t be disappointed! Prices for this product range from £9 to £29.50, so are definitely in the mid to higher end budget but, the packaging and more importantly, quality is great.

My next beauty product from ARTDECO was the Gold Bronze Oil Beauty Drops and as a highlighter lover, I was extremely excited to try this. Once again, being a very pale girl I was a bit apprehensive about the shade working with my skin, however, this amazing Brand proved me wrong, again! The product creates a beautiful shimmer glow and even has fine glitter particles infused into the product, which gleam in the sunshine. Furthermore, although I’ve not tried this yet, the Oil Drops can even be applied to the ends of your hair to create golden accents – how cool is that?! This product doesn’t feel sticky or greasy on the skin and dries very quickly, it’s very buildable, so if you want a subtle glow then that is achievable and if you want to be a glowing goddess, that’s easily done also! Plus, the product smells like coconut, what could be better?! Sadly, I can’t find the drops on Beauty Bay either, but I’m sure they  will be available at some point!

The final gifted product I received was the Hello Sunshine Colour Lip Shine in 10 – Shiny Apricot, a peachy, warm, nude colour. Although I’m incredibly grateful for ARTDECO gifting me these beautiful items, as most of you know, this shade is not usually one I would choose for myself. Personally, I much prefer a bolder lip and don’t really follow the nude lipstick hype, which I can only assume was definitely inspired by The Kardashians. As beautiful as these shades look on Kim, Khloé and Kourtney, they really aren’t my cup of tea, I just feel they wash me out. However, I must say, after using the lipstick a few times, it has started to grow on me! The product is very pigmented but the finish is just too glossy for my liking.

However, lipstick finish aside, I can’t fault the product, it is very creamy and worthy of the name, Lip Shine, the shade just isn’t for me personally. At £16.95 on Beauty Bay, I do feel that the product is slightly overpriced, as it definitely doesn’t last all day, but the formula is a creamy gloss texture, which is most probably why. Therefore, if you’re after a glossy, everyday lip then this is definitely for you, just make sure you keep it in your handbag.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with ARTDECO Cosmetics and I’m very honoured that I had pleasure of being contacted by them in the first place, with a special thank you to Emma for doing so! They have so many amazing and beautiful products and I hope to one day expand my ARTDECO Collection!

Please note, I pride myself in making sure I write honest reviews and although I was fortunate enough to be gifted these items, I was not told to say any of the following statements I have made.

Makeup Revolution London Blush Palette in Blush Goddess.

Is it just me who thinks Superdrug are truly outdoing themselves lately with Super High Quality Affordable Makeup Brands? I think not!  One of my latest discoveries is to the amazing Makeup Revolution and in this post I will be reviewing their Blush Goddess Palette – which was my first introduction to Highlighter!

Not only are their products quality and long lasting, but they are incredibly affordable – what could be better?! Therefore, as soon as I saw and tried out this wonderful Blush Palette in, “Blush Goddess” I knew that I simply had to purchase one for myself. At just £6, yes you read that correctly, you get eight blushes; four of them are matte shades and the other four are shimmer shades. Each blush is highly pigmented and perfect if you love a rosy pink glow for the Spring and Summer Seasons, or all year round if you’re like myself and stay away from the bronzing.

I’ve been using this for a good few months now and the palette is showing virtually no signs of wear, so I won’t be needing to buy another anytime soon. Plus, I rarely find a palette in which I like all of the shades and use them regularly, but, this is the first one which breaks the mold! I think this is because most of the shades are fairly similar, therefore if you mostly wear pink and peachy shades – this is the palette for you. However, fear not! Makeup Revolution have a wide variety of products available, with at least six other palettes on offer, I love that they cater for everyone’s preferences! Who doesn’t love a variety?!

For fellow makeup lovers like myself who like to glow and sparkle, not only is this product a blusher, but the four shimmer shades are basically alternatives to highlighter! Therefore, I usually use a matte shade first, preferably the third pink on the bottom line and after applying I go to the top line and add a shimmer overlay – most often the second highlighter. I love how well the colours blend together, they create such a wonderful glow, so much so that a little goes a long way and if you’re looking for the less is more approach, one swipe will definitely be enough.

I’m so happy this palette was  my first introduction to highlighter as I had four beautiful shades to mix and match with and also four matte blushes all for such an amazing price! The only negative I can really think of and if I’m honest – it’s not really a negative, is that this brand is exclusive to Superdrug, so if you  don’t have one near you then that could be a problem. Also, there is no mirror in the palette, but that’s not really an issue and can’t really be expected for the price. However, thanks to the modern world of technology, you can easily order online!

I’m wearing the third Blusher on the lower section and the first three of the Blush Highlighters on my face. The yellow shade I applied in the corners of my eyes, my cupids bow and below my eyebrow bone and the first two pink shades I applied on my cheeks.

The packaging is simple but very classy and as much as I love pretty packaging, I’d much rather have a quality product any day. Ultimately, they let the makeup do the talking! I can definitely say that I will hope to purchase more Makeup Revolution products in the future and next on my list is definitely their Blush Queen palette, which looks even more vibrant and pink than Blush Goddess!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost in Peach Goddess.

If there’s anyone I have to thank for the discovery of Highlighter, it’s the beautiful Jeffree Star! When I heard about the whole contour/highlight trend I thought it was fascinating, but never really thought about trying it as the contouring, looked way too complicated and intimidating for me to try on my pale skin. The highlighting on the other hand, looked absolutely beautiful, I mean who doesn’t want to glow? However, I was unsure whether I had the skills of mastering the shine and releasing my inner glitter goddess.

However, that all changed when I started watching Jeffree’s YouTube Channel and discovered his incredible Skin Frosts! I’d always appreciated the beauty of highlighters, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a product so beautiful as these incredibly pigmented compacts. Not only that, the shades in the collection are extremely unique and bold – if you want to glow and stand out then these are the ones for you!

When I discovered that the UK Stockists, Beauty Bay had the Skin Frosts in stock I knew that I simply had to try and get one! After falling in love with lilac highlighters, I was really hoping to get Lavender Snow however, only three of the shades were in stock. Therefore, I settled with Peach Goddess, although I wasn’t quite sure how the colour would look on me – I thought it was the best option out of the limited choice left.

Peach Goddess is described as a, “crushed pearly pink” and overall I would agree that is a fairly accurate description. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the pink tint of the product as that meant I didn’t need to use blusher as well. As I was expecting, the pigment of the highlighter is absolutely incredible, with such high coverage that a little does really go a long way – but, who said less is always more?!

The packaging is signature Jeffree and features his iconic barbie pink bold statement colour with the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Logo. Not only that – I am one for details and I noticed that the label name actually matches the shade of the highlighter! Furthermore, the size of the product is incredibly large, so should definitely last a very long time. It’s without doubt the biggest highlighter I’ve ever seen so even though the price is pretty high at £25.50, you definitely get your money’s worth. The compact also features a mirror which is very useful if you’re on the go and want to check your makeup is all in one place.

The only negative I can think of – and it’s not even a bad thing as most highlighters don’t come with one – is that the compact does not come with a highlight brush – so make sure you already have one, unless you want to use your fingers!

I absolutely can’t wait to purchase another Skin Frost – I hope to soon be able to buy Regina George and I look forward to seeing all the new shades Jeffree releases in the future.
