KIKO MILANO Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in Cherry 312.

I absolutely adore make up as I’m sure you have probably guessed by now, so what could be better than receiving a beautiful new gift by a Brand you’ve never tried. One of my closest friends kindly bought me my first KIKO Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in shade 312 Cherry  – she knows me so well, and I have to say I was definitely not disappointed!

The lipstick is incredibly creamy whilst creating a matte finish and I also is very long lasting, I ate my lunch and had a nap and when I woke up the lipstick was still very prominent. I could have got away with not reapplying it but it feels so nice to wear that I actually wanted to!

The colour is of course my signature go to shade as a vintage girl at heart – red! It is the perfect Bombshell colour, a blue toned intense red that creates a statement and works perfectly with classic winged eyeliner and rosy cheeks. I feel like I’ve traveled right from the 1950s!

As soon as I opened the package I noticed the lipstick was shaped in a square tip format, similar to Charlotte Tilbury’s which I also love. I think this is such a great idea as it makes applying the lipstick so much easier and helps with the shaping and contouring the outline of the lips. It can sometimes be quite daunting applying a bold lip colour as you never know how easy it will be to put on but the square tip design is just as good as using a lip brush.

The lipstick comes in a gold and silver packaging which contrast beautifully together and make the product extra bold and eye catching. From memory I can’t think of any other lipstick designed like this which makes it stand out even more and now I want to add more to my collection! There’s also a great variety of shades available, with 19 other lipsticks in the collection ranging from beautiful nudes to shocking purples, therefore providing for everyone.

At £10.90, the lipstick is in the mid price range, not super expensive but not extremely cheap and not one you might be able to afford to buy every week. I personally think the product is definitely worth the money, it’s a beautiful quality and long lasting lipstick, Plus, the case has a magnetic closure, meaning it can’t accidentally be left open or get lost, which is always an extra bonus!

If you like to apply a lip pencil first to create a base and add definition then you’re in luck, all the lipstick colours match the KIKO Ever Lasting Colour Precision Lip Pencils! Therefore you won’t have any mismatching problems and if you can’t be bothered to wear both – you can always use one or the other and get the same look.

The only downside to KIKO – and it’s technically a compliment, is that as far as I’m aware there isn’t a store near where I live, which is such a shame as I’m sure I’d be a regular customer! However, I can order online and free shipping is offered,  so don’t worry if there isn’t a store near you, there is a silver lining.
