Phase Zero Makeup.

As a huge lover of Makeup, I really love discovering new Brands and trying out different products, although, which Beauty Blogger doesn’t!? Therefore, I was extremely happy when Ruth from Love Me Beauty contacted me asking if I would like to review some cosmetics by Phase Zero Makeup – a recently launched company.

Phase Zero Makeup launched their first line of lip products on February 2nd in collaboration with Love Me Beauty – all of the shades are available on their website for retail and factory price! Which means, if you join the website to become a member, instead of paying the retail amount of £12.00 per item, you’d pay the factory price of £3.50. Basically, you could purchase three products and still be under the full price of one – now that’s what I call a major deal! With the retail price being £12.00, the Brand is in the mid price range and after reviewing their items I would say it’s very high quality and worthy of it’s price.

Love Me Beauty kindly sent me the whole first lip collection from Phase Zero Makeup which includes the following; four liquid lipsticks, two lip toppers and three lip glosses. The liquid lipstick shades are; Classic Red – a bold vibrant blue toned red, Gingerbread – a rusty reddish brown and Chai Latte – a warm nude. The lip topper shades are; Holo-lip – an icy baby pink and Prosecco Kiss – a gorgeous rose gold. Lastly, the lip gloss shades are; Dark Burgundy – a vampy dark purple, Pink Suede – a romantic rosy tint and Postbox Red – a screen siren scarlet. I’ve linked all the products that are available on Love Me Beauty and I’ve noticed that the shades look slightly different compared to real life. However, I actually think the colours look much nicer in reality!

There are so many wonderful things I can say about this collection, with the variety of shades being a great start. It’s so refreshing to have so many different colours to choose from, pinks, nudes, purples and reds, meaning you can have the option to create so many different looks. I also really appreciate that a variety of formulas are offered – although I’m primarily a lipstick wearer, it’s nice to be able to wear the toppers and glosses also!

Of course, as a red lipstick lover, the one I was drawn to straight away was Classic Red and this is the shade I’m wearing in my post. Did I have fairly high hopes? Well yes, it’s nice to be positive! However, I was absolutely blown away by the lipstick! Not only did it smell simply gorgeous, but it pretty much lasted all day – almost just as well as Rihanna’s Stunna Lip Paint which I reviewed in my last post. The only flaw I have and in all honesty it’s not a fault, more a preference, is I’d have liked the shade to be even more blue toned – the cooler the better in my opinion.

I really enjoy the overall packaging, I love the white top and clear container, it contrasts so well with the bold Phase Zero logo. Plus, I really like when you can see the shade of the lipstick, it almost becomes a part of the packaging itself! Also, the silver and black cardboard metallic boxes are super chic and make the product feel even more luxurious. The wand isn’t uniquely different to any others I’ve seen, but if it’s not broke – there’s really no need to change it.

Please note, I pride myself in making sure I write honest reviews and although I was fortunate enough to be gifted these items, I was not told to say any of the following statements I have made.

Lastly, a huge thank you to Ruth at Love Me Beauty for kindly gifting me this collection and introducing me to an amazing new Makeup Brand!

Ciaté London Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick in Hollywood.

As soon as I discovered the Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick, thanks to Jeffree Star reviewing it on his YouTube Channel, I knew that I simply had to try this beauty out for myself. However, due to the extreme popularity of this product, I sadly discovered that it was not in stock and waited to be notified on it’s arrival. Thankfully, after a few weeks Ciaté London sent me a notification of availability and I ordered my dream shade, Hollywood – Red.

At £17, this liquid lipstick isn’t the cheapest one out there, although, it’s no ordinary lipstick – it’s literally filled with glitter and spoiler alert – extremely amazing! Therefore, it’s without doubt worth the money and as far as I’m aware, the only product of it’s kind out there. Also, you do have to pay a small amount for postage, but when signing up you are given a 10% discount code so that’s definitely worth using.

I will admit, my hopes were very much heightened after watching Jeffree review all seven shades available, they all looked so beautiful and of the best quality. Ultimately, as soon as my Glitter Flip product arrived, I knew I was going to be far from disappointed! As I’ve said many times, red is my signature colour to wear and if I can find a blue toned shade that looks like Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers – I know I’ve found something special. Hollywood is without doubt worthy of the name and makes you feel like you’ve just stepped into a 1950s Technicolor Movie. Also, the packaging is just stunning, with the box matching the colour of the lipstick shade and the top being a bold glittering silver – so unique and eye catching!

The only thing I was slightly apprehensive about was ironically enough, the glitter itself! I was concerned about it feeling uncomfortable and the possibility of it not lasting very well.  However, my fears were simply a waste of time, not only is the pigment incredibly bold, the product dries down very quickly and it just feels like a normal liquid lipstick. I don’t know about the other shades, but Hollywood – Red is so bold that even after I’ve removed my lipstick – the stain is still noticeable the next day!

Furthermore, once the lipstick has dried within a matter of minutes, you simply press your lips together and in doing this bring out the gorgeous 3D glitter! Although in all honesty, the glitter is very prominent and you will be sparkling all day long.

Ultimately, I absolutely love this product, I’ve been wearing it non stop all week and I hope to add more shades to my collection very soon! I cannot recommend the Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick enough, it’s truly one of a kind and incredibly innovative and beautiful.

Ps… Primark Makeup Haul; Part Two.

Ever since my favourite Beauty Blogger, My Pale Skin shared her Ps… Primark Makeup video via her Youtube Channel, I have been keeping a fairly regular check on their beauty products. Over the years I’ve tried many different Brands of makeup and have found that occasionally, the best quality buys are sometimes the cheapest. Therefore, I decided to take some inspiration from gorgeous Em and pick up a few items myself and overall, I was pretty impressed with the majority of my purchases.

Currently, one of the huge hypes in the world of makeup is the large variety of blending brushes, from unicorn to mermaid tails, you can’t really say there’s not a lot to choose from. I picked up the medium Ps… Pro Blending Brush and was pleasantly surprised by the ease and precision of it’s application! Although the brush does feel very delicate, like it could potentially break whilst I’m using it on my face, it has yet to do so! I do wonder if the quality of these brushes vary with the higher end Brands, but until it breaks – I shall be sticking with this one for now.

The second product I decided to pick up was the viral Mermaid Tail Brush, professionally known as the Ps… Insta Girl Perfection Powder Brush. To be honest, I wasn’t very concerned about how well this would apply my makeup, I simply found it too cute to not add to my collection! However, this product also works beautifully and I found it a lot quicker to use, than my regular sponge. I truly hope that Primark release more shades, as I would definitely buy another!

The third applicator I purchased was the also viral, Silicone Sponge, which came in a two pack and was around £2, so definitely a lot cheaper then some of the other ones out there. I’d heard both amazing and terrible reviews about this item and was very eager to try it out myself. Whilst applying my foundation, I discovered that a little foundation definitely goes a long way on the Silicone Sponge! I sadly concluded that the product wasn’t as great as it seemed on the many Instagram videos and it just spread the foundation around without blending it in.

Possibly my favourite blending brush I purchased was the, Ps… Pro Non Latex Double Ended Blender, which I bought to use for applying my concealer. I know not everyone is a fan of double sided brushes, but I personally think this one is absolutely amazing! The product is perfect for getting to all the hard to reach places on my face and blends the concealer wonderfully. It’s very light weight and is the perfect size to fit into your makeup bag. Plus, with the makeup sponges being attached to the brush, it prevents you getting any foundation or concealer all over your hands – huge bonus!

Besides brushes, I also picked up the Ps… My Perfect Colour Liquid Concealer in the shade Porcelain, for just £2! After seeing Em review this and comparing it to NARS Chantilly Liquid Concealer, I knew I simply had to try it – especially with the huge price variation. I’ve tried quite a few concealers and foundations over the years and have always found it extremely hard to find a shade that doesn’t end up looking orange on me. However, I was simply over the moon when I applied the Primark Concealer and noticed it actually was the shade it was advertised as! I’m very happy that I can now save a huge amount of money on concealer and have officially swapped over from NARS to Primark! Who’d have thought?

The final two beauty buys I purchased from Primark were of course, my favourite thing to buy – lipsticks! I picked up the, Ps… Get Lippy Matte Collection in Girls World and the, Ps… Super Matte Lipstick in Cherry Pie. Sadly, I was quite disappointed in the lack of shade variations available and these two colours were the closest I could find to a red or a vibrant colour. Although both appear on the packaging to be a hot pink/purple shade, they looked a lot darker when applied on my lips. Personally, I love to try bold and striking lip colours, but I found this just too overwhelming and intense on myself – and that’s from someone who adores a striking lipstick! The Autumn and Winter Seasons are definitely the right time to try a stand out lip, but I just wasn’t feeling the look or overall quality of the product. However, the matte stick lipstick does have a very sweet scent and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Ultimately, I was extremely happy with the majority of my Ps.. makeup buys and have noticed a huge improvement in the Primark Beauty Brand. I will definitely now be venturing into there more often and hopefully find lots of other hit quality products with great affordable price tags to share with you all!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Tulip.

It’s pretty surreal to me that after dreaming of owning an Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick for years now, I can finally say that the day has arrived! As far as I’m aware Anastasia was one of the first, if not the first to create the beauty phenomena that is, the liquid lipstick.

A few months ago this beautiful Brand finally launched a UK Website and it’s safe to say that pretty much daily I was checking to see if their iconic liquid lipsticks were in stock. For some bizarre reason hardly anything was available online, it simply said, “coming soon to the UK” and I had almost given up on them ever being stocked. However, at last, the long awaited email notification arrived! I must point out, Anastasia has been available on Beauty Retailers such as Cult Beauty for quite a while, yet the liquid lipstick have never been on there to buy.

However, as soon as I read the email, I was straight on to their website and browsing through the 36 shades available, including the recently launched shades! As we all know, my signature shade is of course, a blue toned 1950s red and I had decided that this was what I was going to go for. The great thing about Anastasia is there is such a wide variety of colours available to suit everyone’s tastes and preferences, from popular nudes to unique lilacs and teal – they have it all!

Eventually, I had narrowed my choices down to either American Doll, described as a, “classic retro red” – basically my dream shade, right? Or Tulip, one of the new colours released which is a, “beet red.” Surprisingly, I decided to choose the latest lipstick released and went with my second choice, Tulip! I thought this red tone looked slightly more unique to my many other reds and ultimately, I definitely think I made the right decision. I’m happy to confirm that the lipstick looks exactly as photographed on the website and it is simply stunning.

At £20, these liquid lipsticks are in the mid to high price range, so sadly I won’t be able to buy one each week, but I know I’m fortunate to have one and yes, it will be cherished. However, as perfect as the product may be, I did have a slight annoyance with the delivery fee. Free shipping is available if you spend over £25 and as the lipstick is £20, chances are if you’re just buying one thing you will have to pay shipping. Of course, I completely understand that not all Brands offer this and that is fine, but having to pay £6.95 for standard shipping, stating 7 – 10 days for delivery is in my opinion, totally unacceptable. There is also an option to pay £10.95 to receive your items in 2 -3 business days.

I really wasn’t happy about paying for such an expensive delivery, so I decided to find the cheapest product available and purchase a pencil sharpener which was £6.00, so I would qualify for free shipping. When I can afford to purchase from Anastasia’s website again, I think I will actually buy two liquid lipsticks instead of one, that way I qualify for free shipping and basically get one of my products for £15. On a positive, my purchase arrived earlier than the date I was give and I was informed by one of my friends that even though I bought from their UK Website, all stock is shipped from the US – hence the high delivery fee.

Ultimately, it was definitely worth spending my money on this beautiful lipstick, the formula is without doubt one of the best liquid lipsticks I’ve used. It dries down matte within seconds, and I actually can’t feel any product on my lips – amazing! However, I do wish they lasted a bit longer, especially on the inside of my lips, although the rest of the lipstick does stay pretty well. There is no scent on the lipstick, which is completely fine with me, although I do usually enjoy the scents, I know not everyone does. The product is a great size and I’m pretty sure this will last me a long time, although it is my current favourite to wear so, I can’t promise anything! I really love the packaging, it is so simple but very elegant and definitely oozes class. One of the best things about Anastasia’s liquid lipsticks is believe it or not – the applicator! I’ve never actually seen one like this before, it’s an oval shape but very flat with a sponge texture, perfect for creating an iconic bold lip.

Overall, shipping aside, I adore this Brand and it definitely lives up to the popularity and hype it receives in the beauty world. The frugal woman inside of me wishes it was slightly cheaper but I can’t really complain when the product is such high quality. I hope to be able to purchase more liquid lipsticks in the future and eventually try out the iconic glow kits!

The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick in Devoted.

As someone who has been obsessed with The Balm Cosmetics ever since discovering The Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter, it is with shock that I admit this is the first product I have ever owned from, let’s face it – basically my dream Makeup Brand!

The Balm is a must buy for any Vintage Girl out there – it’s up there with, Besamé and Benefit Cosmetics – beyond aesthetically appealing with it’s retro, old soul vibe and ultimately – authentic! Therefore, when I finally came to face to face with this beyond gorgeous brand for the first time, I simply had to purchase one of their beautiful products! Thanks to the modern world of technology, I had already discovered their beautiful liquid lipsticks and as this is my favourite beauty product, we all know which item I was going to buy.

After procrastinating between three shades; Devoted, Sentimental and Loyal – I decided to go with my first instinct and chose the original choice, Devoted. This colour is once again,  my signature favourite shade to wear which is a deep, vibrant, blue toned ruby red and I can one hundred percent confirm, this colour does not disappoint! This is the first time I have worn the lipstick and I can honestly say I will probably be applying this all week. The shade looks exactly as advertised and I feel like I’ve stepped out of a 1950s Technicolour Movie.

If you’re not really a red lipstick kinda girl,  you’ll be happy to know that The Balm have just released six, yes, six, (!) new liquid lipstick shades so you now have eighteen colours to choose from! Just promise me one thing, if you do end up buying them all then please, try not to blame me.

When applying the lipstick I noticed a unique mint scent coming from the product and honestly, it was quite refreshing to smell something different! Don’t get me wrong, I adore the sweet ingredients that are often used in lipsticks, but this fragrance further contributes to The Balm’s products standing out and being memorable. Plus, if you don’t like the mint aroma, there’s really no need to be put off from buying them, as it fades once it’s dried!

Furthermore, the packaging is so detailed and unique! I really appreciate when Brands take the time to not only make a good quality product but, also create something beautiful and classy, which you want to have pride of place on your Vanity Table. I think the majority of makeup lovers would agree that The Balm have truly outdone themselves with packaging and they definitely stand out from other Brands. I think the whole concept behind the product is so witty, very eye catching and most importantly – something different!

Cost wise, The Balm Cosmetics products are in the mid price range, with their liquid lipsticks being, £13.49 in stores and £14.99 online – strange, right? I’ve found that it’s usually the other way around, so I don’t really know why this is the case however, there is a silver lining! Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 on a lot of their Brands in stores, (I’m not sure about online sadly) and The Balm is one of them, so remember that when you’re next browsing.

The only downside I can think of with The Balm Cosmetics is they are not stocked in every Superdrug, I’ve not yet to come across one in my hometown, (holds back the tears) so, if you’re someone who likes to buy beauty products in store only, this could be a problem. However, as I said previously, the products are just like advertised, so fear not! Debenhams also stock The Balm Cosmetics, so if you’re lucky your local store may have one and if not, it’s only a click away online.

I simply can’t emphasize enough how in love I am with this Brand, all of the products are so beautiful and are pretty much works of art and not just the liquid lipsticks – literally every single item! I can assure you when the sad day comes and my liquid lipstick runs out, I will most definitely be keeping the packaging and yes, maybe that’s too much, but for me? I think not. I may have waited years to finally own something from The Balm – but they most definitely met my dream expectations!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan.

As I’ve said many times, pink may be one of my absolute favourite colours and has been for many years, but it’s definitely not one of my go to shades of lipstick to wear. However, this post could shock you all, as I think I may have discovered the perfect pink that I actually… love to wear! Shocking, I know.

A few of you may be thinking, “I’m sure she’s wrote about quite a few pink shades of lipstick” and I’ll agree, to an extent. Although the shades I’ve wrote about have been mostly mauve shades, which although has a pink tint, is overall a different colour. However, this lipstick is definitely the colour in question and one I happen to adore and this post shall tell you why.

I’ve previously tried NYX’S Matte Lip Cream in the shade, “Ibizia” and wrote about this wonderful lipstick and brand in this post published last year. Therefore, when I happened to be browsing through their lipsticks a few weeks ago, (I was of course testing many shades on my hand, so much so that I practically created a rainbow) I came acrossMilan“. I’m surprised I actually picked it up as for the hundredth time, we all know that pink isn’t my must wear shade, although I do like a variety so, for whatever reason I swiped the lipstick on my hand. After trying out what seemed like hundreds of lipsticks on my hand, I was continuously drawn back to Milan and thankfully, I ended up buying it.

At just £5.50, the Soft Matte Lip Cream’s are a pretty great price, although if I could change one thing I do wish the product was a slightly bigger size. However, overall it is definitely worth the money. There are so many different shades in this collection and I especially love how each lipstick is named after a City! Pretty cool huh? The lip wand is also perfect and this is actually the only lipstick I will apply without using my must have lip brush! I think the reason is because not too much product comes out onto the wand therefore making it a lot easier to use in creating the perfect pout.

The soft matte cream formula is slightly different to a liquid lipstick, it dries very quickly but as described, it applies as a cream formula – not liquid. A positive to this is it’s definitely less messy if you happen to sometimes make a bit of a mess like myself. I would say that a applying a few coats of this product is a good idea as it’s not as long lasting as some others. However, for the price it is amazing quality and pretty pigmented.

I absolutely love the smell of the NYX Lip Cream, it’s not too strong and is a beautiful vanilla like scent. Plus, once fully applied it doesn’t even really feel like you have any product on your lips, which is a super bonus as we all know how uncomfortable sticky, flaky lipsticks can be. The packaging is pretty similar but very pretty and as someone who is a huge fan of the added details, I really appreciate the NYX Logo with the little heart. I also think it’s a wonderful idea how each product is the colour of the shade you purchase.

Therefore, as you can tell – this is without doubt my favourite pink lipstick I own, I think it’s due to the unique cool tone shade that NYX have created. I can’t think of another one like it and it’s definitely not easy coming up with variations when there are so many amazing colours out there. It’s not a baby pink or hot pink, it’s truly unique!

Have you got any NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and if so, which is your favourite?

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in Beso and Patina.

Before I start reviewing these amazing liquid lipsticks, I have to thank my gorgeous Sophie for introducing me to Stila by buying these two products for me for my Birthday! Stila first came to my attention a few weeks previously when I saw Sophie frequently wear one of their liquid lipsticks called, “Patina” and she couldn’t say enough positive things about it – that’s when I knew it was a must have purchase!

The shades I received from Sophie was her favourite, “Patina” and my go to colour, (red – what else?), “Beso” and I was instantly in love with them. I’m especially glad that one of the shades she bought me was, “Patina” as I doubt I would have bought it for myself as I would assume it wouldn’t suit me. Surprisingly – I was so wrong! Patina is a beautiful mauve nude pink, a really unique colour that is bold and such a lovely shade to wear. I can definitely see why it’s Sophie’s favourite and I’m happy to say it’s one of mine too! Beso is a stunning bold true blue red, the ultimate vintage bombshell shade and a must have in my old soul opinion. I really don’t think you can go wrong with red lipstick, it’s just such a classic and timeless look.

There are so many liquid lipsticks out there now and sadly so many have a lot of flaws and don’t quite match the hype they are given. However, I can without a doubt say that the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks are the best I have ever used! They stay on for hours and do not feeling uncomfortable or drying on your lips as the formula includes avocado oil and Vitamin E.

Not only is the product beautiful but the packaging is absolutely stunning, featuring a gorgeous bold gold colour for the wand and the font. At £16, the lipsticks are at the mid price range but in my opinion are definitely worth the money. The product is a decent size so should last quite a while and you only need a small amount of lipstick because it’s so pigmented. Furthermore, the wand brush is flexible which makes it a lot easier to apply the lipstick and contour the shape of your lips. In my opinion, this is incredibly important for a liquid lipstick to have as a hard wand brush can make it extremely hard to apply nicely if you don’t own a lipstick brush.

It’s fascinating applying the lipstick and watching it dry from a glossy formula to a matte finish in a matter of seconds! Unlike some liquid lipsticks this dries completely, staying incredibly well and not rubbing off easily like some others sadly do. I absolutely adore these lipsticks and can’t wait to try more from their collection, I can’t thank Sophie enough for introducing me to Stila!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Sangre.

I’ve liked Kat Von D ever since I remember watching her on LA Ink and seeing her amazing tattoo creations and wonderful talent. Therefore, I may have skipped a heartbeat when I found out that her make up line was finally coming to the UK! Although currently only available in one of the stores in London, you can still buy online from the Debenhams website so everything is still pretty great.

I’ve heard such good things about her brand, especially her liquid lipsticks therefore, I was thrilled to receive my first one for my Birthday a few weeks ago. The shade I have is a beautiful bold red called Santa Sangre and is described on Kat’s website as being the colour of poison apple – loving the Snow White reference! Once again, as I’ve mentioned in many of my lipstick reviews, this colour is perfect for all the vintage lovers out there – red is a must!

As soon as I started to apply the lipstick I realized what the hype about the products was all about, it brushed on so smoothly! The shade was truly pigmented, very vibrant and dried ever so quickly. Plus, it didn’t feel uncomfortable on my lips as previous cheaper liquid lipsticks have which shows that a quality product is definitely worth the price. I’ve been wearing the product all day and I must admit, it has stayed on pretty well and doesn’t look crackly, I could get away with not reapplying it. However, it is described as lasting 24 hours and as much as I love the lipstick I definitely don’t see that happening.

At £16 I was pleasantly surprised by the price tag as I assumed it would be a lot more, it’s in the mid range money wise and I definitely think it’s worth it. The packaging is absolutely stunning and such a statement design, you’d know it was Kat Von D’s without reading the label! The lipsticks are also pretty big so you get a lot of product and won’t have to buy one every week – unless it’s another colour of course! I absolutely adore the beautiful bold pattern with the black and silver contrasting one another, you’re not just paying for the lipstick, you’re paying for the stunning design.

Not only is this product a must have but Kat also has stick lipsticks called,  “Studded Kiss” which come in a stunning iconic case – I’ve not seen anything like it before! They are priced at £16, have the iconic KVD Logo printed into the lipstick and I definitely hope to try one out and review it for you all in the future! What I also love about her Brand is she really covers a huge variety of shades, ranging from your every day pink or nude to a green or blue! It is also Vegan and Cruelty Free which is absolutely wonderful.

Makeup Revolution London Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in Keep Crying For You.

Today for the first time, I tried one of the many new lipsticks that I recently purchased; Make Up Revolution’s Lip Lacquer in Keep Crying For You. This Brand is exclusive to Superdrug and thanks to one of my closest friends who introduced me to them, I finally tried it  and I’m so happy that I did!

As soon as I saw the liquid lipsticks I knew that I had to try them, I think these products are currently the huge hype in the make up world and I have to agree, I’m very much in love with them – it’s such a cool idea! What’s even better about Makeup Revolution is it’s so affordable, I bought this lipstick for just £3! For such a bargain I definitely couldn’t miss out on trying one and I decided to go for a hot pink, something that stands out and is very feminine.

Obviously for the product being so cheap I wasn’t expecting wonders, however, I was personally surprised overall with how much I liked it. When I started to apply the lipstick I noticed it did look pretty streaky and I did feel slightly worried. However, the formula dried down very quickly and looked completely pigmented and bold. I did use my lip brush for the base coat of my lipstick, then the wand for the overall production which I found very good for shaping the colour.

I first applied the lipstick this morning and after having lunch a few hours later I did notice that a fair amount of the product had been removed from my lips. To be fair, there was still a lot of lipstick present, but as I like my  lipstick to be extremely prominent, I did reapply another coat for the photos. I would recommend if wearing this all day then you should definitely take it with you as it isn’t hugely long lasting, but that is to be expected for such a cheap price.

I adore the overall look of the lipstick, it really does dry very quickly and changes into a bold matte formula. Personally, I do think the lipstick does start to feel slightly drying but with the matte finished I’m not that surprised – a lot of liquid lipsticks can tend to create this overall feel. However, this doesn’t put me off wearing these lipsticks, although it can feel a bit strange it doesn’t really bother me and if it does bother you, then simply apply a lip closs or semi sheer lipstick over it.

The packaging is very much like the Kylie Jenner and Anastasia Beverley Hills liquid lipsticks, it looks just like a lip gloss – but we all know it’s not! The lipstick comes in a gorgeous rose gold packaging which I really love – this seems to be the colour of the moment for sure! Another good thing about this lipstick is when you touch it, the product stays on and does not come off on your fingers, it really is matte.

My conclusion is I will definitely be purchasing more lipsticks from Makeup Revolution and other products too. I think they are very good quality for such a cheap price and they have a huge variety of lipsticks available, so if you’re not into liquid lipsticks then there are four other categories to choose from. I’ve just worked out, that I could buy five of their lipsticks compared to just one mid to high range product which is very appealing!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Cherry Skies Lipstick.

As I mentioned in my last post, not only did I buy one NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick – I bought two, which couldn’t be anymore different from one another; Pink Lust and Cherry Skies.

Sticking with my favourite shade to wear – red, I decided to try and branch out from the obvious blue tone 1950s classics and went for one that was extremely dark. The lipstick instantly reminded me of a 1920s vampy shade that a femme fatale such as Louise Brooks or Theda Bara would have worn. It was so bold and daring and would definitely stand out, so I decided this was the one to try.

I also thought it would be wise to buy a lip pencil to apply under the liquid lipstick and therefore make it last longer, so I chose the closest shade I could find aptly titled, Dark Red. I only  realized once I’d got home that the lip pencil was a retractable one which, although a great idea, over the years I’ve had many that snapped fairly easily. However, my apprehension was entirely unnecessary as the lip pencil worked wonderfully and didn’t break! So I’d definitely recommend the NYX Mechanical Lip Pencils. It’s refreshing to be able to actually use  a pencil and not be fearful of pressing too much encase it snaps, plus, no sharpener is needed!

When applying the liquid lipstick I soon realized that with this shade and product, less is definitely more! I also learned that it was extremely important for me not to rush and take my time as the colour is so bold and obvious any messes would clearly stand out. As I started to apply the lipstick I actually felt a bit intimidated and anxious as to how it would actually look on me. Before the product dried it was almost black and although I love being bold with lipsticks, I definitely don’t think I’m ready to try something so stand out just yet. I can’t pull it off like Kylie Jenner that’s for sure!

However, as soon as the liquid had transformed into a matte lipstick I was very happy with the shade, it was different but still ultimately a classic vintage colour – just what I aim for! All I really needed was a blunt bob and I could have almost pretended I was a 1920s Flapper, well, maybe not but it’s always nice to have an imagination, right?

I did notice that this shade didn’t seem to last as long as Pink Lust, the lipstick I reviewed in my previous post. The only conclusion I can come up with is because it’s such a bold colour and contrasts so much with my actual lip colour, it must be more noticeable. Either way, this is only the first time I’ve worn this lipstick so I’m sure a bit of patience and practice will help to improve it.
