Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Doll Parts and Masochist.

As someone who has been dreaming of owning a Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick for over the past year, I may have almost screamed with happiness when I found out that Jeffree Star Cosmetics were now being stocked online on UK website beautybay! I know you’re probably thinking, “Why don’t you just order from his website like everyone else?” and the answer is, I ordered from Kylie’s website a couple of times and the second time was charged with a customs fee – so I wasn’t risking that again!

I was fortunate enough to get two of the velour liquid lipsticks for Christmas that I asked for, (I hope you all had a lovely day by the way!) and they were, Doll Parts and Masochist. At £16 these products are in the mid to high makeup range, I was actually pleasantly surprised with the price – I thought they would be a lot more expensive! I always believe that quality is key with any makeup and if it’s going to last long and be a worthwhile product than I’m happy to pay that little extra.

Doll Parts is described on beautybay as a, “creamy hot pink” and I definitely agree with the creamy and pink part but hot? I’d say it’s a more mauve shade, which I’m very glad about as it’s different and not your everyday average pink! What I’m basically saying is I don’t think the description does it justice. However, the photo shows the shade exactly as it looks so that’s a good sign. I think this colour is great if you want to wear a, “girly” shade but not be too girly – if that makes sense? It’s perfect for the Autumn and Winter seasons as it definitely has a cold bold look and feel to it. It’s without doubt one of my favourites to wear and I’m so glad I chose this lipstick! Mauve shades are definitely becoming a new favourite of mine.

Masochist is the one I knew I wanted as soon as I saw it listed on Jeffree’s website months ago, it is described as a, “blue toned red” and once again I have to disagree with this – to an extent. Don’t get me wrong, the colour is absolutely stunning but it’s definitely not one hundred percent red. Blue toned? Yes. However, in the bottle, it looks like a bold vibrant fuchsia pink shade which on a positive, the website photo does do it justice. I always knew I wanted this colour anyway but, because of it’s description, I was also hoping to get it as an alternative for Redrum – also described as a blue toned red, which was not in stock. Ultimately, I absolutely adore this shade and I must say, when wearing it today it looked a lot more red than the first time I wore it but, I just thought it was important to mention that it definitely does have a slight hot pink undertone. This is most noticeable when comparing the red cherries on my dress with the lipstick. I do love the colour though – a unique shade of red to add to my collection!

Not only are the lipsticks incredibly long lasting and dry down from liquid to matte form in seconds, they are also vegan and cruelty free! Plus, the packaging is beyond aesthetically pleasing – it’s simply a girly girls dream and definitely the colour of Jeffree’s soul, you can tell he’s put his heart and soul into his Brand. I’m not going to lie, I’ve even kept the box packaging the products come in, they’re simply too pretty to throw away! The lipstick wand is also curved perfectly to apply on you lips and not hard and uncomfortable. Plus, you only need a small amount of product because the shades are so pigmented and opaque – which makes them extra long lasting!

I love how Jeffree is so innovative and there are simply so many amazing and unique shades in the collection, I simply cannot wait to purchase more! I haven’t been able to stop wearing these lipsticks ever since I received them on Christmas Day and I doubt that will change for some time!

The question is, which shade do you prefer?
