Lana Del Rey Lust For Life Box Set.

As many of you may know by now, my interests are definitely stuck with the movies and music from the Bygone Era of Classic Hollywood, however, Lana Del Rey is one of my few modern musical exceptions. I’m sure that’s not surprising to anyone who regularly reads my little Blog, as Lana is without doubt inspired by Old Hollywood and seems to be an Old Soul too. If you’re a Lana fan also, then you’re probably aware that with each album she releases, she offers a limited edition collectible box set to purchase from her website. Therefore, with Lust For Life being released in the Summer of 2017, along came the CD Box Set.

I will admit, I did order this as soon as I was aware it had became available and after multiple delays, it finally arrived in December. Yes, the delay was slightly frustrating, but I was kept updated with the changes and I already had the album so was happy to wait. I’m fortunate enough to have the Honeymoon Box Set too, which is no longer available – but if you’re interested I’ve linked that previous post too.

At £39.99, it’s not the cheapest item out there, but if you’re a super Lana fan like myself, it’s most definitely worth adding to your collection. The pieces in the box set are created in the same style as the Honeymoon release and feature a CD album, artworked box, photo album book and thirteen postcards. For some reason the website states you receive four lithograph prints but, as stated previously, that is no longer the case. The quality of all products in the box set is absolutely beautiful and in my opinion, worthy of every penny!

I truly love how each album Lana produces has it’s own aesthetic and different feel and era, she’s an absolute music genius and I adore her. I was extremely fortunate enough to see her live in August last year and she most definitely did not disappoint. Not only is she extremely talented, she’s such a unique presence and has had a huge impact in the world of Music. More importantly, she genuinely seems like a beautiful person inside and out, an artist that cares about her fans.

If I had to choose my three favourite songs on Lust For Life, it would be the following; Tomorrow Never Came, Cherry and White Mustang. I could listen to these three on repeat for many hours and I’m pretty sure I’ve heard them hundreds of times since the release and still, I can’t get enough of them, so thank you Lana!

Queen of Coney Island.

When you live and breathe Old Hollywood for at least 80% of the day and you’re most definitely a Vintage Soul at heart, it’s pretty rare that you come across something or someone Modern that you love – shocking, I know. Therefore, when I first listened to Lana Del Rey, which must be around five (!) years ago now, I knew I had found someone special. Like many of her fans, it was hearing the viral Video Games that instantly drew me to her, I wish I had heard her Pre-Fame, but sadly it didn’t happen like that.

Nevertheless, the moment I heard Lana’s voice, I knew that the love for her and her music was definitely not a fleeting phase and five years on, she is without doubt my favourite Artist. The only downside of loving all things Vintage is that sadly, these years have long passed by and there’s only so many music and films you can watch, before you ultimately run out. Of course, that would take many man years, but the refreshing thing about finding a Modern Interest is just like yourself, they are constantly growing and changing. Plus, if you’re an Artist they’re always releasing new content and there’s usually something to look forward to.

Today is Lana’s 32nd Birthday and I hope her special day is just as wonderful as she. I love so many things about Lana, she’s so creative and different, she doesn’t try to fit in and conform to the Top 40 standards of Music and I think that’s so important. She is raw and real, with many of her songs being about personal experiences and true emotions, which I think makes her so connected to us fans. I’ve never been fortunate enough to meet Lana or even watch her in Concert, but from what I know about her, she seems such a loving and caring soul, which truly endears me to her even more.

As you all probably have realized by now, I don’t really listen or follow Modern Music or Artists anymore, yet one of the few Musicians I do is of course, Elizabeth Grant. It feels strange to say Lana’s, “real” name if you will, but for those who don’t know much about her, there it is. The fact that Lana also seems to really appreciate Old Hollywood and the Vintage Look is also a huge bonus for me. It’s so wonderful that someone as famous and talented as Lana can bring an Era that is very important to so many people through to such a large audience.

Lana is not only incredibly talented and a beautiful person inside and out, she’s so very inspiring through her own story. Lana has suffered her own share of demons and personal struggles, yet through strength, perseverance and honesty, she has managed to battle her way out of them. She has had many setbacks and never let that defeat her, showing if you work hard and believe in yourself you can achieve your dreams and goals. Plus, through her honesty and openness in her music and interviews, she has helped so many people realize that after the storm comes sunshine.

If I had to pick one song or album of Lana’s, which is an almost impossible task, I think my favourite would have to be, Summertime Sadness, or maybe Ride? I honestly don’t think I could pick an album, they’re all so different and equally important to us fans. Speaking of her Music, I am beyond excited for the upcoming Album, Lust For Life, which should be released on July 21st! All three songs that have been released so far I have absolutely adored, so my hopes are pretty high and I know Lana won’t let us down.

I can only dream that Lana will ever see this and the reality is that she probably wont. However, I just hope that she knows how loved and appreciated she is by the millions of people who listen to her music and adore her for simply being her beautiful self.

Happy Birthday Lovely Lana!

Lana Del Rey Honeymoon Box Set.

Although most of the things I adore are related to Old Hollywood, one of my favourite loves from the modern day has to be, Lana Del Rey! I fell in love with her when she released Video Games in 2011 and became a worldwide sensation and I’ve followed her career ever since. For some reason, I don’t listen to much current music any more that is except for Lana, I’ve loved every one of her albums since Born To Die (2012) and now with her latest release, Honeymoon (2015) I can say I love her just as much, or even more!

Therefore, after missing out on the Box Sets for both Born To Die: The Paradise Edition (2012) and Ultraviolence (2014), I was determined to buy this one! Although I had to wait for over a month for it to arrive, due to design issues, it was definitely worth the wait! It is a must have for all Lana fans and a pretty good price for only £35.99! Here’s what you get in the special edition bundle:

  • Honeymoon Artwork Box
  • Hardbound Photo Book
  • 10 Exclusive Lithograph Prints
  • Honeymoon CD
  • Honeymoon Digital Copy

If I had to choose my favourite item from the box set, it would have to be the lithograph prints, I’ve not seen anything like them before! Plus, they are the perfect size and I think the Honeymoon Photos are without doubt my favourite of Lana. I love how she captures the Golden Age Of Hollywood, she oozes classic glamour and allure! There’s definitely no one in the music industry like Lana, she’s truly one of a kind.
